Well said Atlantis. To grow as people and a community, we must recognize the faults that are our own, then fix them. One of those faults being that we are not in anyway infallible.

Should a Christian celebrate Christmas?
by Samsie inhello, i'm new here and have woken up to the real truth concerning the org.
i'm sort of fading away at the moment.... i need help with something, i used to as a child celebrate christmas and have always had amazing memories of it (my husband hasn't as he was born into the org) but i gave it up when i learnt the "truth".
my interest was only in pleasing god and still is.

I gotta agree with most everyone. I don't because I hate all holidays. Waste of time money and energy to decorate cook and purchase things people don't like to impress people You don't like. My exleriance anyway. Besides the paganism in it, we all make our own choices and have our own account to pay before the father. So if you apply Roman's 12 2 to anything you have a question on then with proper research and study you will know how to worship with a clean conscience weather it agrees with anyone else or not based on the milk, or solid spiritual food you take in.

my entire childhood i had to hear about how me being bad in the hall or someone telling the elders about what's happening at our home, that's making it so my stepfather never gets or keeps appointments.
so always be good, don't tell anyone anything, so the men can become servants and elders and the women pioneers.. so i hear this about an elder family that pretty much broke apart.

And nkt only a shortage of members but the ones who stay won't want the workload that goes with the higher privileges. Thats an insane amount of work for a small group of men. I've only seen one hall dissolved and the only reason they were allowed to give was "not enough elders". That was back in 2008 or so in hermitage Missouri. 14 years ago or more they didn't have enough so I do believe that its worse now and their standards are dropping. Nkt gonna lie if they payed I might go be an elder or something. Acting has always been fun 🤣🤣

Are Jehovah’s Witnesses softening their view of Faders?

normally, since leaving in 2016, they wouldn’t eat with us or talk much to me.
(since i did convince their daughter to leave the cult).

Idk about that. That may be just a personal decision. If it is good on your in-laws! My in-laws don't have an issue with us since we left but it was a silent fade and all they know is we n don't go to meetings anymore. One sibling and her husband know about my nicotine use but they had little to know problem with it. They just appriciated that I was honest. I think n its just being more common that they don't listen to the shunning rule with family as often. I know an elder who sees his df'd daughter regularly for "family business".

out of the numerous translations i've had/used, i can honestly state that the 2001 translation is head & shoulders above all the others i've ever consulted, imo.
the publishers even invite suggestions/corrections to be submitted.

Depends on what you want out of the scriptures. But every single one has dogma behind it. I use the nwt because I'm used to it. But I love using the Hebrew/Greek interlinier because they include a concordance.. great for original language research. You can get different apps for that. I prefer the hagio tech in the play store. My Torah buddy gave me a "the scriptures 2009", wich is in canonical order and pretty accurate on what I've read. The cepher is great too. Includes the apocrypha and other books not included in the regular 66. That ones rather pricy but worth it if you want more out of studies

The rest I have is screenshots of front covers and spines of books and booklets id like to also recreate. I'm sorry again, Atlantis, for taking and not giving. That was very rude of me. Another thing is that we've been taught to rely on books and teachers instead of searching for ourselves. Bibles a nice guide to a believer, but we have to search for proof outside scripture also
