I think the Society might drop its appeal over the Conti case

i've been giving some thought to the recent development in which the judge has ruled that the society is barred from completing any property transactions until the appeal is over, which could take up to two years or even more.. i've submitted an article to randy at freeminds in which i basically argue that it is no longer in the society's interests to appeal this case.

if i correctly understand the restrictions placed on the society by the judge, then the governing body has far more to lose by appealing than they could conceivably gain.. think about it.... by appealing, they buy themselves time in which to formulate a long-term strategy for dealing with the fallout of this case, but will be barred from liquidating $1 billion in property assets at a time of global economic uncertainty when their donations are dwindling.

there is also no guarantee that their appeal will be upheld.by dropping their appeal, they take a hit and pay $23.8 million but retain the freedom to see through their real estate projects; retain their financial flexibility to respond to dwindling donations, and get to pretend to their followers (as with the un scandal) that it never happened.of course, i am only saying that dropping the appeal would be the only intelligent option for the society, assuming they are aware of how legally precarious their child abuse policies are.

I think that either paying in full and taking the "hit" is one option as it will get the media exposure put to bed sooner than later. Of course it would set a precedent to others thinking of, or currently sueing the WTBTS for abuse.

Or they can put up the cash and proceed with the appeal and also be allowed to move forward with the selling off of properties, moving up state etc. ( that is if the Judge would allow the money being deposited to release the hold on the sale of the properties)

I would opt for putting the money up and praying ( I know right?!) for a over turn of the judgement with the appeal. This would prevent others from moving forward with the case and also vindicate God Holy Name (I know right?) and would allow all the current Jws to breathe a sigh of relief as then they would really know that they are infact, in gods chosen organization. Because you know that if the WTBTS wins a court case Jah had something to do with it, and if they lose a court case, it was from the DEBIL!!!

I would think that if they took the cash and deposited it into a account that the courts had control over, then this hold on selling property would be lifted.

in my previous post i mentioned that i'm staying in the org because i think i got a sign from god...some of you asked a lot of questions about my sign and even shared the society's view on asking for signs which i didn't know.. i didn't disclose exactly what the sign was.. some of you asked me what it was and even stated that i know that you all would pick apart and prove that my sign was just a frivolous excuse to hold on to the org.. maybe you were right.. so i've decided to tell you all exactly what it was---no embellishments or exaggerations.

i would love to hear your opinions since i'm still in a terrible mess.sometimes i'm 100% this is not the truth then other times i'm 60%....i feel if god was giving me a sign i'd be 100% this is the truth you know?.

so i woke up that morning and organized to go meeting.

Reverse engineer this thing, a talk about doubts would not be of any use, without people that were having doubts, right?

I think that there has to be a large percentage of the Jws that are having doubts more frequently as the years go on and nothing happens, the changes in the definition of the word "Generation" 607, NGO with the UN etc..

Yes, the talk is a outline from NY that has been assigned to be given all over the USA at least, and the reason that it is being given my friendis due to many having doubts, and rightfully so.

If they can keep the Jws from acting on their doubts, the talk has worked as planned. You were ready to toss all your doubts to the wind by just hearing a few words of the talk, this in itself shows that you are in a precarious position and we've all been there but you surely need to put your nose to the grindstone and research your doubts. Read up on 607, go to Jwfacts.com and look at some of the other things that are not right with the WTBTS of NY.

Think about the fact that the WTBTS wants you to not research your doubts. They really do not want you to research them, they may say to research them as they know that just the fact that they say to research them will make some feel relaxed and feel that they have nothing to worry about.

The REAL truth can stand up to scrutiny, right? The only way to know what is the real truth is to do your own research.

What ever you do, you need to continue to find out the facts about this organazation.

Keep up the good work, you are surely on your way to finding out the truth. The swirling of thoughts will start to subside as you take in more knowledge about topics such as 607 etc,..

I heard the attorney for the Candace say that if they appeal the Wtbts will be charged 10% (assuming per year) interest on the money.

He also outlined what reasong the WTBTS might use to appeal.

That the information from the original victim should not have been allowed as evidence. Arrgh! Can't remember the other reasons at this moment, but said it could make it to the Supreme Court of the US, IF I did not misunderstand his comments.

i was about 8-10 years old and twice i had people tell me that i should not pioneer but to go to bethel because i "was governing body material".. one was a co and another a do.. i didn't even believe in god, never have so that makes it weird!.

what wierd things were told?.
