its bad enough when the governing body rewrites the organizations past history.
but last october they also began rewriting the organizations future history relative to the appointment over all of jesus belongings mentioned in matthew 24:47.. for many decades they had insisted that jesus made that appointment back in 1919 because the society had been so faithful and discreet about what they had been teaching down till 1919. .
but as shown in captives of a concept they had not been either faithful or discreet about what they had been providing in the way of spiritual food down till 1919. therefore under that scenario there was no possible way the society could have passed a food-at-the-proper-time examination at that time.
I wish there was a way to create some type of interactive time line that would show the doctrinal history of the JWs WTBTS throught out the years where you could mouse over the year and see what they believed. Or possible see brackets spanning the time that they believed "x" doctrinally.
I've seen some interactive time lines that show how earth came to be and also how life progressed through out that time. I think that seeing a span of time visually and what the belief was during that time span might make it a bit easier to grasp.
I do not how ever have the ability to pull this off as I know nothing about creating something like this I just know that it makes it easier to get a grip on it for myself, possibly others.

if judicial committees have jehovahs direction and holy spirit why must they be made up of three members?
is the holy spirit not capable of communicating its wishes to just one person alone?
or is it perhaps to give the appearance of fairness and justice.
This was one of the things that helped open my eyes. Talked to a near relative, (elder) and asked why would there be times when the 3 elders in a Judicail Meeting not agree with each other as to the decision to me metted out to the person being counseled.
He said that if 2 of the 3 elders voted to DF a person and the other elder was a hold out for private reproof and no one wanted to budge either way then the 1 elder should make his point and then recant and decide to go with the 2 elders decision.
I asked how this could happen if Holy Spirit were involved in this decision making process, why would it not be unanimous EVERY time? Did not have a good answer and later told other family members that " He is saying apostate things" Just because I asked questions that he did not have a good answer for he says it was "apostate"
I also laid out a scenario where a Baptized brother smoked a cigarette and decided that it was wrong and went to the brothers and he recieved private reproof. Same scenario but in addition, some other Jws see him smoking, and spread the info through out the congregation. The brother went to the elders and did not know that anyone else had seen him smoking, but since it was known to the congregation, he was DFd. I asked the Elder relative why would the discipline change from one scenario to another due to who knew about it as it should be solely on the case of the person who smoked, not any other factors as it looked like the disciple metted out was based on who knew what.
These were just a coupla things that allowed me to start seeing the fact that their is no way that it is anything more than men running thngs.

....watching their videos?.
i am a subscriber to quite a few of the ex jw youtube channels and i enjoy many of the videos.
i do cringe a bit when i hear the person in the video remind the jw that they "should not be watching these videos as it is against the rules and council of the wtbts, gb, elders taking the lead, etc,..".
But in this case, they are already watching it, they have made it past that point.
The GB has been telling them not to touch it for decades and now they have got the courage to watch one and Bamm, they get reminded that they are doing something that they will die for doing.
I think it might be more of a "us against them" scenario where the ex kinda does not like the current Jw and they can bust their balls for doing this. But I think they fail to remembers that they actually want them to watch the video, not to leave.
I think that they forget the real objective, that being to share info with the lurkers to help them leave the WTBTS, and have a " gotcha now be atch" moment and include that in the recording.
For any that have made videos and have includede a statement like mentioned above, please share your reason for doing so , IF your objective is for the viewer to watch this video and more in the future.

I'm probably making an assumption that the videos are to allow the current Jws to wake up and see that the teachings of the WTBTS is not endorsed by a god, any god. So why would you scare them away from being able to see your fine work and explanations?
I imagine some Jws that are in the teetering point of being able to take a peek at some "APOSTATE" material and happen to stumble on one of these videos that right up front scare them back into the arms of caring mother.
Believe me, there is not a Jw in the WORLD that does not know that they are not supposed to be watching videos that are critical of the WTBTS as it is drilled into the brains of the JWS constantly. The last thing they need at that point is an in video reminder that they are making Jehovah sad and Satan happy by continuing to watch. I believe in neither Jehovah or Satan but you get what I'm coming from. They believe in them and that is your audience that you usually want to continue viewing your entire video.
Am I missing something here?

i mean, it's so utterly ****ed up, it's unbelievable.. just think about the nitty gritty of it:.
people that they love & care for who don't share their religion deserve to be killed, left without a grave & eaten by wild animals.
one day, this will happen & they'll be surrounded by billion upon billion of decaying, rotting corpses.
I wonder if their ever was an Elder that wanted someones nice house in service SO MUCH that he would send Brother Goofus to their door so that they would not learn the truth and would then die at the Big A so he could get first dibs on their house.
How about creating a form that would allow the Jws to write down their name, congregation, status, ( pioneer, MS, x years etc) , address of the residence they are interested, time and date along with a place for an Elder to sign off on.
If this form were to be made to look legitimate do you know any Jws that would ACTUALLY fill it in?
How about a footnote on the bottom that would say:
"It is up to the Jw that has been assigned this residence to personally be responsible to remove any and all bodies, including children from said property to the street for routine pickup and disposal"

i remember there being 'admonition(tm)' from the platform about how disrespectful it is to sky twat jar hoover if we nod off when speaking to our imaginary despot god.. i was always nodding off when praying.
i noticed in the end it didn't matter if i prayed or not the results were always equally disappointing snooze or not!.
If you nod off and are unable to say "in Jesus name" then the prayer does not make it through. So you could be praying for hours, deep thoughts from the heart and doze off just before the end and all that was in vain.
Which brings up the subject of "Where is the prayer being buffered or recorded up until the point where you launch it by saying the special "In Jesus name"?
Seems like it would have to have been "stored" for lack of a better word by some intermediary of Jehovah until those words are said, since he does not hear it personally until, again, those special words are uttered at the end. Of course once you say those special words, then it is properly forwarded to Jah so that he can hear your prayers.
I think it makes more sense to say those words at the beginning of the prayer, you know, to open the connection before spending all that time praying for nought.
It gives the idea of "In the Cloud storage servers" a whole new meaning, as it were.

prior to that we had been in a new congregation for about 9 months, and we were just irregular.
my husband rarely went, and i would go occasionally with our toddler son just enough to show our faces and keep the elders off our backs, and for the sake of some friendships in our old hall.
all of the reasons i had for going were just no longer important.
Once the sports start with the kids, you will be posting on here, " How do you handle all the new friendships we are making since soccor started!" lol
Really, we've been out for just 2 years and my youngest one is scheduled to play 2 games of baseball and 1 football. With that comes dinner afterwards, sleepovers, etc etc etc,..
It will all come and again you will wonder how to slow it down somewhat.
Hang in there.

6 months or so ago, me and my wife decided we will never set foot again in a kingdom hall.
about 4 months earlier than that, i stumbled upon an article about the wts being associated with the un.
that got me into finding out ttat eventually.
Congrats,..
A few more books that a person leaving the WTBTS to help clean out the cobwebs is "Captives of a Concept" by Don Cameron and
"Combatting Cult Mind Control" by Steven Hassan.
Even though a person "gets" the the WTBTS is not the truth, there are still "irrational fears" AKA Phobias that are probably still in the minds of those that have had decades of constant indoctrination via literature, meetings, DC CA, personal study etc etc etc that can act like trip wires where a person can experience, say a natural disaster, where their mind will go to the thought that the big A is starting.
Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

my name may be a bit premature...because i'm actually still active within the org, but i guess you could say i've already "left" in my heart.
i'm just scared to take the first steps, because i don't know any "ex's" in my neck of the woods, and i'm very scared of loosing my family.
i just need someone to talk to.. .
Glad to hear that you have awoken to the TTATT,..
Be sure to check out jwfacts.com if you have not already been there, loads of great info from the WTBTS themselves that basically cut themselves off at the knees, as it were.
