Who Qualifies for TTATT?

when i first learn ttatt i started telling every one.

ttatt will not help him, it will destroy him.

all his family are jws.

Sometimes the TTATT is like a,... well,.. a malignant tumor that has wrapped itself around a person spinal cord to the point where surgery is not an option as it could paralyze the person. I think what determines the option for telling them or not is just how bad the tumor is entangled with the cord and if the health of the person (mental health) can take the tedious surgery to remove the tumor.

I think there are Jws that I know that would not be able to "take it" and would crash and burn upon trying to hear the TTATT. A few of them, if handcuffed to a table, would beat their head against the table to try to knock themselves out before listening to TTATT.

Rumor that SP OVER 50 are being put back in the system.

just read this over on jwr that a few members have heard that sp that were being told that they were being cut at the first of the year are now being put back in the system.

the speculation is that they would have a harder time finding employment than those under 50.. anyone else able to confirm this?.

its probably a good thing as the wtbts will lose that money, these older ones will still be able to make it and the wtbts have shown their hand as far as this is what they would have liked to have happen.

Its probably a good thing as the WTBTS will lose that money, these older ones will still be able to make it and the WTBTS have shown their hand as far as this is what they would have liked to have happen. Also they show that they are reactive to input from members and they are not thinking through their game plan enough since they are making decisions and then reversing them within a few weeks.

The right to shun - wrong?

many people are understandably upset and angry at the notion that jws have the right to shun people.

it seems such an obvious "no brainer" cruel and inhuman thing to do - it must be wrong ... surely?.

of course we look at things from the perspective of those hurt and harmed by shunning.

Ostracism or exclusion may not leave external scars, but it can cause pain that often is deeper and lasts longer than a physical injury, according to a Purdue University expert.
"Being excluded or ostracized is an invisible form of bullying that doesn't leave bruises, and therefore we often underestimate its impact," said Kipling D. Williams, a professor of psychological sciences. "Being excluded by high school friends, office colleagues, or even spouses or family members can be excruciating. And because ostracism is experienced in three stages, the life of those painful feelings can be extended for the long term. People and clinicians need to be aware of this so they can avoid depression or other negative experiences."
When a person is ostracized, the brain's dorsal anterior cingulate cortex, which registers physical pain, also feels this social injury, Williams said. The process of ostracism includes three stages: the initial acts of being ignored or excluded, coping and resignation.
Williams' research is reported in the current issue of Current Directions in Psychological Sciences. The article was co-authored by Steve A. Nida, associate provost and dean of The Citadel Graduate College and a professor of psychology.
"Being excluded is painful because it threatens fundamental human needs, such as belonging and self-esteem," Williams said. "Again and again research has found that strong, harmful reactions are possible even when ostracized by a stranger or for a short amount of time."

Some good info about "hurting" others by shunning.

When shunned I should ask my family "Why did you beat me, slap me, hit me the other day when I saw you at the store?" The would say,. "I never did anything like this,.. you must be crazy!"

Then tell them that they did something worse,... they continually ignore you

Maybe we could show some family member that they are doing worse than "hitting us"

Child Discipline, new article to address Jackson's Royal Commission testimony

i have published a new article at watchtower corporal punishment, as a response to the testimony that geoff jackson gave at the royal commission.

it includes the relevant part of the transcript, along with a string of watchtower quotes to show that what he presented was not accurate, and that watchtower translates rod as a literal implement to hit children with.

Anyone remember the stories we would hear at the conventions and meeting about the little child who was acting up in the Kingdom Hall and when the parent would take the child to the back the child would say out loud " Help me Jehovah!! Help me!!"

All the people in the audience would start giggling knowing that the child was about to get a spanking.

If you could find that story in print or in a talk it would help show the WTBTS and also that the Rank and File agreed with it.

1914 'Big A' WT Retraction/Apology?!

so i just met with an old 'friend' who wanted a 'chat' after no contact for the best part of 4 years.

she obviously heard about the wonderful news of my abrupt fade :d. i guess i wanted to prove to myself that any future meet ups/chats with jw's would be pointless.

What if they did apologize,.. what would that really mean in the big picture?

Just because they might have the ability to apologize does not mean they are not culpable in misleading members in a way that is harmful.

WTBTS "We stole your life, we kept many of you single, we prevented you from having children, we stopped you from enjoying your hobbies, we rented your mind for most of your waking hours, we indoctrinated you with phobias to cause you fear and anxiety, we prevented you from seeking gainful employment that would have allowed you to retire by now. Sorry,...it's all better now since we printed the word "sorry" right?"

Finished Mystery (1917)... The book that Jesus approved...

so a few months ago, a friend sent me an actual copy of finished mystery which was published in 1917 (not a pdf download... the actual book).

i must say, this was the most disturbing book i have ever had the displeasure of reading.

but i only read it because this was the main publication that was being distributed worldwide when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower in 1918 and i basically wanted to see for myself what jesus saw in the wt that would compel him to choose this religious corporation over all other religious denominations.. anyway, if anyone is interested in knowing the actual contents of this book, here are some bullet points i put together from some of the notes i took as i read the book:.

I know they have been putting CTR out to pasture lately and like the idea that this came from Rutherfords mind. So post STR and pre Jesus selection is a great 1,2 punch.

there were several families that were visiting my mom today and i was sitting in and just listening to all of them talk..

they started talking about the recent shooting at the university.

Even their song "Keep your eyes on the "Prize"" proves that the Jws are motivated to make it into the new order for the benefits. The Jw will tell you otherwise, that they are not doing these works for any future benefits.

I disagree as the "prize" is not the "finish line" is it?
