  CO Visit this week....

  so, we are meeting our new co this week... i wonder if he'll be as glory hungry as the last one and the one before him and the one... well you can get the idea.

  too bad we didn't volunteer to feed him .

  that makes me wonder...why do they receive so much glory and attention as if they were some type of celebrity?

  Make Them Prove That You Were Baptized!

  this might not work for everyone, but it might for some.. if a person faces disfellowshipping, the person should make the elders prove that they are baptized!.

  as far as i know, baptism records are not sent to bethel.. without two witnesses to the event (and the witnesses have to remember seeing the person immersed), and no photos, there would be no proof.. if someone did this, the elders would of course contact bethel for instructions, but what could they do?.

  it would put a stop to the elders proceeding with any action..

  why was there no official arrangement before 1952 to disfellowship people?

  was there a different procedure with a different name?

  was no one committing disfellowshipping offenses?

  Also as a side note, there is an article in an older WT that basically denounces the Catholic Shurch for excommunicating their members, the WTBTS calls it unscriptural.

  It's a very intersesting article. I would think that someone here would know where it is from.

  Watchtower teachings on the length of human existence.

  anyone know the current wt teachings on the length of time humans have been in existence?

  do they still teach that the first man and woman were created approximately 6,000 years ago?

  have they made any comments on archeological findings that show paleo-indians living in the america's 10,000+ years ago?

  I have heard that Radio Carbon dating ( or what ever the correct name for it is) cannot be trusted since anything preflood (Noahs) would give wrong dating due to the radiation being blocked by the Sun preflood. Or something crazy like this.

  Also evidence in the strata could not be trusted due to the mountains being disrupted due to the flood since all the pressure from the water pushed mountains up and caused sea shells to be in the mountains etc.

  They will use whatever it takes to deflect any EVIDENCE that does not "fit" what the nomads from the middle east wrote down thousands of years ago.

  i am from japan and want to translate this quote, but last phrase is uncear for me.. here is the quote..   I think that for mankind to move out of ignorance we have to face the facts, and ignoring the truths only allows mankind to stay in their stagnant state.

  Give of yourself for the betterment of the masses.

  I think that they, the WTBTS, knew that they were having to create rule after rule after rule and then someone could just skirt the issue and or argue the point that this is not spelled out in the Watchtower as being wrong et.

  So they needed a "catch all" teaching that had some teeth and that would be broad in it's scope and that would allow the Elders to whip it ouot when they saw fit.

  Thus came the idea about Brazen Conduct. It's not specific in it's scope so as not to limit it's power to one specific area. There were too many slipping out of their clutched hand for them not to think of it.

  and i never saw an a$$embly hell that had windows that would let light in that would reach the auditorium.

  so, what do they do if the lights go out during the middle of a boasting session?.

  I heard the same one about throwing the boo bag into the pond and he was told he failed the test.

  I have said before that some of these urban legends could have been started by the WTBTS itself. This particular one would serve the WTBTS well as it would create fear of ever agreeing with someone that is "tired of living this lie!!" or what ever term that may use.

  In this case if someone ever approached you with a thought about the WTBTS being wrong, you would be in fear of sharing concerns you might have yourself out of fear that you were being tested and answering along with the dissenter could be a trap.

  IF I WERE the WTBTS I would create phobias like this as it would tend to keep down networking among dissenters.
