I work as a vendor to that district and spent time at the school in January. I had a long conversation with the resource officer. Or one of them. It’s a safe quiet suburban rural area. I work with these folks. I am shattered with this news. I work with local high schools in debate events also so this is cutting too close .

now that i’ve been woken up from my brainwashed love of this corrupt corporation and from my belief in the bible, and my fiancé is starting to wake up as well, i really don’t want to have the sexist, overused, impersonal talk outline used for my wedding ceremony by some elder who is trying to show off his talk giving skills.

I had a lovely mildly spiritual vow exchange at the local justice of the peace. It was absolutely perfect and would not offend any believer (,and I'm sure he would have adjusted nicely if we were unbelievers.)
It got the job done. It was short, simple and sweet.

Indian weddings have more spectacular visuals but the grandeur of a royal wedding is pretty entertaining .

The GB just like the Chilean bishops didn't need to physically abuse. They did nothing to end the known abuse.
The problem is that in this scenario, the GB is the pope. All the CO's and elders are more in the bishop (power level) position.

The WT has the advantage of being a religion with over a century. It haste disadvantage of being built in a poor foundation of false prophecy and unsustainable business practices. How long will their money keep them going when their base has died out? They are no more indestructible than sears or Montgomery wards. They will continue to dwindle until no one really cares what happens to them like MANY churches which just quietly go into obscurity.

JWs insist that the Bible is the literal inerrant inspired word of god. Nothing about it is up for question. Then they have wrapped the org and the governing body up as a critical aspect to understanding prophecy and bible fulfillment.
When they say the literal age of the creation is 6000 years, you are obliged to ignore dismiss or misrepresent any evidence to the contrary.

The dad sounds nuts. None of that narrative with all the approval at the grandfather's modus operandi sounds remotely normal. Maybe I'm being harsh but he seems to have some screws loose.
