  i was called on this morning

  for the first time in ages.. a very elegantly dressed senior lady and a young chap.

  but--it wasnt just having a leaflet thrust at me--it was a full blown "old style" presentation.

  i stopped her going to far into it--by asking if they are jws--and told them i was an apostate.

  She could be one of the PIMO JWs who remain in the Congregations to reform the 0rganization from within. It's a growing movement <ehem> the reason the partakers numbers keep going up mostly </ehem>. They realize some people exit the 0rganization not because they leave God, but because they can't put up with the Pharisaic control, thus they are not apostatizing from Christ.

  It is for freedom that Christ sets us free.

  A machine that was trained on WT speak!!!

  With the high frequency of quaint expressions in WT-speak it would be amusing. I remember growing up hearing foreign language versions of the WT publications thinking Bible Study phrasing was a weird religious sort of talking, somehow special, and I associated it with speaking "The Truth". (Like system of things for world, and offspring for children, etc) Come to find out as I grew up it was just awkward and inadequate translation of peculiarly cultish, idiosyncratic speech.

  there was on older white-haired circuit overseer in houston around 1989 or 1990. last name started with a w i think.... not sure though.

  even the most brain-dead robotic elders told me he was offensive.

  The snake of Genesis 3:1

  we've got some really knowledgeable members on here so i have a question for them and everybody.

  what was the earliest adjective used to describe the snake of genesis 3:1?

  currently one can read words in english translations like 'cunning' and 'crafty'....but in other languages you see words like 'wise' and astute...which convey a completely different idea.. i'm wondering what may have been the earliest and most accurate adjective known or used.

  And "Latines" what is that now??? Why not grammatically correct "Latins" or Latinos/Latinas???

  When people go out of their way to change grammar for gender neutral activism it rubs me the wrong way. Call me a Boomer but... It just sounds so made up and wrong. Spanish is a language with only two genders for nouns and adjectives so the gender neutral nonsense just sounds fake and pretentious.

  Wanting advise on a draft copy

  If you would like to have an impact then state politely that your dad needs help with their software tell them he is advanced in age and the local elders are not helping him sorting out the issue and since you are no longer in the 0rg you cannot help with their software. Could they provide you with the name and address of the CO or could they forward your letter to him?

  Tie them up in requests. Keep writing them every couple of weeks or a month, asking for them to sort it out and fix their problem since they made your dad buy the device.

  Ask them what or who you need to contact to get your father the help he needs as a publisher.

  Don't accept their solutions but come up with a follow up request that they do something. Becoming a pain in their butt will get you more satisfaction than venting your frustration with a letter they will just tag as written by an apostate.

  Keep demanding they do something and be like the widow asking the judge for justice. But be polite and be persistent.
