Who are the "Inactive"?
by thereishope inthis was my starting point in this journey of rediscovery, and i've made great strides, but here i am again asking the same question.
all this talk re the rc and the shunning of the inactive ones.
there is no announcement made obviously about "shun sister so-and-so, as she is inactive.

It is frustrating to be sure when nobody lifts a finger to see if you're ok but remember: these people are super busy doing mundane things and are trained to only look for "spiritually strong" association.
It's a tough pill to swallow at first and the feelings of betrayal run deep but know that you once had many friends and you will again. (Unconditional friends๐)

The wife and I are now officially "inactive" by not turning in time for 6 months and by not attending meetings. The shunning has already begun. Nobody has called or written. This has worked out well because it shows my wife the conditional love that you get from the org. It's a bit hurtful yes, considering how much we killed ourselves for those thankless people but freedom always comes with a cost.
Hopefully you can start making real friends and renew bonds with non witness relatives. That really helps curb the betrayal one feels when the shunning starts.

Why Are You Here?
by Believer ini'm wondering why believers remain members of this forum which is clearly hostile to believers.
as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.
as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.

Updates pretty much. I like to hear what's going on with court cases, property sales, and all the looney teachings that are happening.
Some of the posters on here still bring out great points that I plan to use when I meet a dub on the street or at my door.
This site is also great for learning different belief systems and testing out what fits you best. If it weren't for this site, many would be lost.

New Public Talk #193: "Rescue From World Distress"

I saw a video on YouTube last night explaining why so many of the Jehovahs are sick with various diseases. All this religious FOG and unnecessary stress in a persons life is very unhealthy.
The truth is supposed to set a person free. This kind of info isn't healthy.

"how awful it must be to be dying as an apostate!"
by purrpurr ini heard today about a former jw/now apostate who is dying in hospital.
this information was accompanied by the comment of "wouldn't be awful to be lying there in hospital, dying as an apostate!

At the end of life I will go out happily knowing I won't have one of those crappy JW memorials.

Update and a Thank you!
by Darkknight757 ini wanted to say hello again and offer a big thank you to sites like this that have helped so many wake up to watchtower bs as well as offered the support that so many need after leaving the cult.
personally i have been learning more doctrinally with regard to the witlesses lately including more about their history.
"look behind to learn" was a recent theme of the j-dumb broadcast and they are right!

Personally I have been learning more doctrinally with regard to the witlesses lately including more about their history. "Look behind to learn" was a recent theme of the J-dumb broadcast and they are right! We can learn much from the past including all the false prophecy and lies Watchtower has made over the years.

Good book if you liked the old "flip-flops paper that was written by a former poster here. It is a 430 page book written by a non-Jw.
In other news, the wife was finally given the go ahead to get prego!! So we are going to try to start a family again. We are quite a bit nervous considering everything that happened last year but happy nonetheless.
We are just trying to figure out this whole fade/ telling her parents thing. It would be nice to get the fact that we are leaving wt off our chest before getting pregnant to relieve that stress. Any suggestions?
We were considering just having them over for a meal and telling them how I woke up to wt by reading the bible.
Keep in mind July 26th please. It's Watchtower victims Memorial Day. Go to the site and download a fitting pdf, buy a dollar store teddy bear and leave it at a local Kingdumb Hell or a park or a bus stop near you. Just a little something to keep the dubs thinking. ๐
Thanks for everything again people. This is a great community!!
Cheers!๐พ๐พ๐บ๐ป

JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?
by KateWild ini saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.
they were not actively approaching anyone.
what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

I would approach if there was one by me.
I would first ask if they are bible people. Of course they will say yes cause they are FDA's.
I would tell them I'm a man of science. Then I would tell them that I know who invented frozen vegetables.
They would be like, "Huh?"
I would tell them to read Genesis chapter one. God made green vegetation one creative day before the sun.
Then I would tell them I do believe in Jesus even though I also believe in science. I would ask if they believe that Jesus is their personal mediator?
They will say yes cause they don't know their own doctrine. (I have quote on my phone)
Then I would read 1 Timothy 2:5,6 and show them that the word "mankind" in verse 5 refers to all people not just their anointed followers.
I would probably finish up with maybe Proverbs 4:18 and show them they make their God to be a liar by saying he progressively reveals "truth" (ahem)
