LOL Rebel. When we were shopping for our fade hall we met an old lady who was 92 years old and had a nicer goatee than I could ever grow.

Our first act of rebellion against the Watchtower.
by The Rebel inone day at art class, we were told we were to draw a naked woman.
i knew as a witness this would be wrong, but i awaited the lesson in anticipation, it would be the first time i had seen a naked woman.
i remember sitting at my esal waiting ten or fifteen minutes for her to appear.

Great life experience! Have you continued in your artistry?
Growing up I had many "girl friends" who were just friends, nothing more. There was no romantic involvement and it never lead to anything but companionship. It's sad that Watchtowerites cannnot experience close friends with the opposite sex because they think we humans cannot control our sexual desires when alone.
As for first acts of rebellion against Watchtower? Buffy the Vampire Slayer binges with the wife and coming here for confirmation that Watchtower was a lie.

Despite their false predictions aren't the JWs right? Won't the world eventually end & Paradise come?
by deegee inaren't there christian denominations who do not make false end of the world predictions but who nevertheless believe that the world will eventually end and paradise (whether in heaven or on earth) will come?.
it seems the watchtower was just jumping the gun when they made false end of the world predictions but they are nevertheless the right: the world will eventually end and paradise will come..

I'd imagine paradise future can make a person feel all warm and fuzzy but in the end we really don't know for sure what happens.
Its a good rule of thumb to live in the now and be the best person you can personally be. Perhaps you can influence those around you and you can have paradise NOW, rather than at death.

Why Finding the One True Religion is Impossible
by Simon injws like to think they have found the one true religion.
but like so many other religious people, it's usually the religion they were born into, the only religion they know because it's the first one they found or, at the most, one of two or three (typically the second one after they left their first / born-in faith).. the trouble is, there simply isn't enough time to explore and investigate each and everyone of the many thousands of belief systems, religions and sects around the world.. think of it this way: which is the best neighbourhood to live in where you would be most happy and most successful?
not just in the city or even the country you are in, but the entire world.. how would you ever know?

If those two elders come back I'm sharing this with them. Simply fantastic topic.

Update to: As a Matter of Conscience, I Am Resigning from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Sail Away ini just had a two-hour doctor's appointment (treatment for branch retinal vein occlusion) that requires screenings, scans, dilation, anesthetic and injection, etc.
this makes it necessary to spend a lot of time in the waiting room..
my former p.o., book study conductor and later field service overseer was there and greeted me in a friendly way.

The Witnesses are forced fed stories that upon leaving the organization, the people are utterly miserable. To show that you have a "lightness" about you proves the Watchtower wrong and can be a great force for change in the honest hearted. Keep it up!!!!😊
I hope your procedures go well. Keep us updated.

Question for those that have been Disfellowshiped for apostasy VS succesfully fading
by NikL inthere are quite a few here who have been disfellowshipped for apostasy.. then there are those that have successfully faded.. why the different outcome?
are the ones that got df more out spoken?
or does the discrepancy lie with the elders?.

Those two dummy's who came over yesterday asked that question and I said "No!"
Then told them to read the July 2013 Watchtower page 8 paragraph 19 which says the F&DS wouldnt be appointed until sometime DURING the GT. Then they said "the light gets brighter" line. LOL.
I asked if the GB know what they are even teaching anymore? They cannot even keep up with their own "light."

Knock knock."Who's there? Two elders!!
by Darkknight757 inso today was a cold and snowy day in my neck of the woods and the wife and i were just chilling around the house waiting to go to the church tonight for a candle lighting service when lo and behold we get a knock on the door.
yup, 2 elders from my old hall.
i figured they were fishing for some time so i invited them in and gave them some coffee and we talked about everything that happened and why we walk away from the jw's.

@LongHairGal I appreciate that. They refer to our children as "it's" and my wife quite boldly said "not it. Rose and Anthony."
I was very proud of her for standing up to these guys and defending our little ones. We told them that their life bought us back ours, out of a crazy mind control religion that was making us depressed and unhappy.
Sharing the resurrection "hope" is meaningless for the thinking person. It always goes back to "if God were loving they would still be here or wouldn't have suffered." I think they finally got that.

We told the elders the same thing, that we will keep our thoughts to ourselves and so far the wife and I have not been df'ed although we are very outspoken about never going back.
Too I believe you need to put these idiots in their place and remind them that they have no power over you and that you are not afraid of them. They feed off of fear. If you have no fear then they can't hurt you.
