It's definitely a means to control people. I know for a fact that the bruz would close the back school at our hall because, "people wouldn't pay attention to the meeting back there." There was one MS in particular that would be a real stickler about it, even telling Elders not to sit back there.

Banned from the second school!
by purrpurr ini've been told by a jw friend that when her hall recently had a refurb that big changes were made to the second school.. one, a large sign has been placed on the door telling people not to use it and to sit in the main hall itself.. two, that all the chairs which used to face the large windows looking into the main hall are now side on to the window facing the wall instead.. this is because "so many people were sitting out in there!
people were finding all manner of exhuses to sit-in there and the brothers want us to all be together in the main hall!
" she said.. of course i didn't tell her what i really thought of this but seriously?

Tell me what you think.

i'm not, nor ever be a jw.
i know too much about their beliefs.

Don't ever go to the Kingdom Hell. Your children will appreciate that you are a man of morals and integrity.
Do fun things with them. Keep teaching them about real life stuff. Be a good father.

Would we exist if Adam and Eve didn't sin?
by truth doubter inmy son asked me 40 years ago.
should we be glad adam sinned?
because if he hadn't, we would not be the person we are.. any opinions?

Adam and Eve is just a story made up by someone to explain life as we know it.
To believe in it would be the same as belief in the Tooth Fairy and Santa Clause. There is overwhelming proof that humans have been on earth much longer than a measly 6000 or so years AND that we evolved from a different life form.

Update on fade. Elders finally are interested on my "welfare"
by StarTrekAngel inso since the last time i posted regarding my fade, you all learned that i was having some health issues.
that came along just right to quit going to meeting without raising much suspicion.
somehow everyone at the hall seemed ready to tell my wife they missed me but attended the memorial and no one bothered to take the initiative to back those words with actions.. i guess that having seen me at the memorial they at least felt bad because last night i got a call from one of the elders telling me they want to come today and visit with me.

After 3 months of inactivity in field service the elders finally wanted to talk to the wife and I. They want to set up a bible study with us to try to "reactivate" us. Be very careful what you say as these head hunters are actively looking to JC anyone with doubts. Tell them your depressed or having trouble at work or that you need to rebuild your relationship with God, anything that will get them off your back.
I personally feel that ignoring them does little good but creates more suspicion.

Memorial attendance
by punkofnice inmy spies seem a bit confused.
here, in this neck of the woods 3 congregations had 3 separate sittings.
the attendance seemed to be swelling.

Who knows. I hope to be long gone from this nightmare by the time they try explaining the declining numbers and attendance at their stupid meetings.
It's funny how such an effort is made to invite as many as possible to quite positively the MOST boring meeting of the year, so anti-climactic and so anti-Christ. I was looking at the n00bs this year and they all had that same confused look on their faces. (Especially when they had to touch the bread and wine plate)😂😂😂

Went away for Easter to my Aunt and Uncle out of state. Ate ham, lots of ham. Then they gave us more ham to take with us.
I wanted to do the Chubby Bunny challenge with the wife but she's too afraid we will choke. 😕

They love their numbers Punk so of course they will publish the numbers. Then they will need to come up with an explanation as to why things are the way they are.
But even if they didn't publish the numbers, the still-in zombies won't question a thing.

Catholic encyclopedia misquote
by alcyone ini do not know if this misquote has been discussed here already.. new catholic encyclopedia says this about jw:.
"judge" rutherford introduced important changes in the witnesses' creed and transformed the congregational structure of the sect as it was under "pastor" russell into a rigid theocracy.
the third leader, "brother" nathan h. knorr, gradually replaced the offensive convert-making tactics of the rutherford era by suave manners that have gained the witnesses their current reputation as one of the best-behaved groups in the world.

The Org claims to have ownership over "truth" yet they are the biggest liars.
I find it funny that one of the recent magazines on their web site had a cover article about Honesty.😷 I mean really? Every time it seems they quote a source they are wrong in some way especially if it favors the witnesses.

Our attendance was down about 75 from last year. There were new people that have been roped in this past year but a lot of folks have been dropping out. This new meeting schedule has been terror on the bros as well as attendance, myself included.
Funny as the ding a ling from Bethel that gave the talk said that " Perhaps this year we will see 20 million attend the Memorial worldwide." 😂😂😂😂

Status update and hello.
by Darkknight757 ini haven't posted here in a few months and to be honest i haven't been lurking either.
i hope everyone is doing well.😊 i wanted to take a minute to let you know how things have been the last few months.. recently the brothers decided to finally consider my letter of resignation.
they met with me alone and i let them know why i have become inactive as a publisher and why i no longer wish to serve as an elder in the congregation.

I appreciate all the kind thoughts.
The organization would like us to forget those that we lose and just move on. Like brandnew said, they try to dictate our grief. Everyone is different and I personally think it's unhealthy to hide those feelings. That's why I love the grief support meetings. People of all backgrounds who come together to support each other. Many will tell us our babies are in heaven but I just don't find that comforting, but I also don't see a problem believing that if it helps a person to heal. That's a personal matter.
Mrquik, you mentioned prayer. I haven't gotten to that yet on a personal level because I don't know what to say. Honestly I don't know how to pray to God at this point considering the witnesses do it all wrong. Using the name "Jehovah" isn't proper according to my current understanding. But I really have no interest at this time trying to build a relationship with someone who I am unsure exists.
Daniel, sorry for your loss. I think it's hard for people to really understand pregnancy loss and stillbirth unless you experience it. People look at the wife and I like there is something mentally wrong with us. They often ask why we haven't gotten over it yet. 😕 I don't think it is something you just "get over."
