i heard today about a former jw/now apostate who is dying in hospital.

this information was accompanied by the comment of "wouldn't be awful to be lying there in hospital,dying as an apostate!

knowing that you have no hope!?

Good book if you liked the old "flip-flops paper that was written by a former poster here. It is a 430 page book written by a non-Jw.

In other news, the wife was finally given the go ahead to get prego!! So we are going to try to start a family again. We are quite a bit nervous considering everything that happened last year but happy nonetheless.

We are just trying to figure out this whole fade/ telling her parents thing. It would be nice to get the fact that we are leaving wt off our chest before getting pregnant to relieve that stress. Any suggestions?

We were considering just having them over for a meal and telling them how I woke up to wt by reading the bible.

JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?

i saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.

they were not actively approaching anyone.

what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

I would approach if there was one by me.

I would first ask if they are bible people. Of course they will say yes cause they are FDA's.

I would tell them I'm a man of science. Then I would tell them that I know who invented frozen vegetables.

They would be like, "Huh?"

I would tell them to read Genesis chapter one. God made green vegetation one creative day before the sun.

Then I would tell them I do believe in Jesus even though I also believe in science. I would ask if they believe that Jesus is their personal mediator?

They will say yes cause they don't know their own doctrine. (I have quote on my phone)

Then I would read 1 Timothy 2:5,6 and show them that the word "mankind" in verse 5 refers to all people not just their anointed followers.

I would probably finish up with maybe Proverbs 4:18 and show them they make their God to be a liar by saying he progressively reveals "truth" (ahem)

Witness Carts - A Vehicle for Significant Decline

i was stalking to a jw today about her recent experience on the carts and with being a jw generally.

until this conversation i considered the carts as just an ineffective preaching method and a harmless waste of time.

but now i wonder if the effect of the carts might be to produce noticeable decline in jw numbers.

Since the introduction of table witnessing at my old hall, publisher hours and placements slowly declined. I think your on to something here. Nobody wants anything to do with the trash they are trying to sell and so the witlesses are becoming less active. As with the doors, they see for themselves the sheer number of people who are just not interested in the message.

For myself, before it was over I seen no reason to preach. It was a waste of time. Nobody cares what those stupid magazines or books say. And most people by now realise that the dumbs are a cult.

It's going to take time so just hang in there. You'll be angry, sad, depressed, anxious, and furious sometimes all at the same time. The pain does lessen some as time goes on.

Just remember: They are a criminal organization that is purposely taking people away from the Christian means of salvation in Jesus Christ. Everything they teach about him goes contrary to proper belief in Him. His death on the cross and not a torture stake, his ressurection in the flesh, he being one with The Father. JW's, according to the Christian means of salvation are bankrupt. They will lose out on their hope in the end.

Of course I think that religion is just a means to control people and it's all a bunch of horse shit.

I was visiting a prospective fade hall last night when an elder bad mouthed Terrell as to why he was being shunned.

I was thinking that the information he divulged to the entire congregation was confidential. He had a part earlier discussing that when you tell the elders something, it's kept a secret. So how was he able to divulge the reason for a person being df'ed to an entire congregation of 100 or so people as well as any that may have possibly been on the phones?
