Jehovah is a catchphrase. It's simply a marketing tool for the organization. Without it they are nothing, a powerless invisible worst friend.

God's name
by Gorbatchov infirst at all, there is a new marketing video of god's name, clearly saying the name of god is jehovah.. link: https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodbible/docid-502014331_1_video.
and then, there is the video with geoffrey jackson (gb) clearly saying that the original name of god is not known and the use of jehovah is because of it is the most used variant in english.. link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwv_8ocvkj8.
so, something contradicts here, isn't it?.

Deleted Elders?
by Farkel ini knew about elders being "deleted" and have commented what a strange and pejorative term that is, but it wasn't until "wtwizard" and "designs" commented on another thread about it that it actually hit home for me.. one cannot step down as an elder with any dignity!
elder's can't quit, with the word "quit" being as in "he quit his job.
" elder's can't resign as in "he resigned as chairman of the board for xyz corp.".

I've heard that term "deleted" used before on a number of occasions. My case was different.
They said that I was "no longer serving as an elder", possibly due to the circumstances behind it being perinatal loss. This was after many months of doing absolutely nothing in the congregation and missing many meetings. (They didn't know the real reason was that I had discovered TTATT and learned of the child sex abuse and rape cases in the Borg.)

As a Matter of Conscience, I Am Resigning from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Sail Away inafter listening to the hearings of the australian royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse, i am no longer content to have simply walked away from the organization.
as a matter of conscience, i do not want my name linked with the organization in any way.
i know this letter has been posted previously, and i thank the author.

Thank you for the info you have provided. I'm going to use this as a basis for discussing why the wife and I no longer support and JW activities.

Great story!
I remember when we became "bible study people" and not "the magazine people."
Some friends got so used to just blindly placing magazines and NOT using the bible that they got kind of a bad rap. So starting quite a few years ago we were instructed to always use a scripture when placing the monthly trash paper. We were also instructed to ask for bible studies and demonstrate them where possible. Suddenly that was supposed to change us to "bible study people" instead of "magazine people."
Funny thing is now the Witlesses are just "Cart people" and "Jw.org people."

The Watchtower Society's Purpose
by compound complex in"the sole purpose of our existence as a society is to announce the kingdom established in 1914 and to sound the warning of the fall of babylon the great [in 1918].
we have a special message to deliver.

Their purpose is to go against the grain in every way. To lie as much as can be handled by the R&F. To con as much money out of the R&F as humanly possible. Finally to do their utmost to destroy faith in society as a whole, and break up families.

Wife having lunch with her nosey Mother.
by Darkknight757 inso my wife is really nervous about having lunch with her mother today.
she is an über-dub who is always asking probing questions as to our spirituality.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think my wife doesn't like confrontation so she would rather avoid the subject and honestly I don't blame her. It's her mother after all.
I told her to tell her mom to mind her business. 1thes 4:11. I know she means well but we are almost 40 years old now. Honestly I think we got life pretty much figured out by now.

So my wife is really nervous about having lunch with her mother today. She is an Über-Dub who is always asking probing questions as to our spirituality.
I think she knows that we are fading out. She brings up all the classic horror stories of those who leave. She asks about our new hall. She always wants to talk about "the truth."
What can my wife do? She's pretty nervous about this lunch.

Of all the stories in the bible, the flood has to be the most retarded. There is way too much evidence to prove that it didn't happen. It still amazes me that people believe that some old guy and his family built a boat and squeezed all manner of life in it from different continents. Not to mention enough food and water. Also to think that fresh water fish survived this global catastrophe is unreal.
Belief in this story in its entirety is a measurement in gullibility.

Glad you are finally living "the real life!!!"😊
There is so much this world has to offer and dubs unfortunately are really missing out. That's probably why they are so depressed and depressing to be around.
I think my mother-in-law knows the wife and I are no longer going to meetings. We told them that we moved to a hall 45 minutes from home. She keeps bringing up stories of how miserable ex-JW's are. Funny as the wife just said last night that she has never felt better since we stopped attending meetings.
