Great comments. I love how they blame the children if they do not take to WTS thinking. Then they throw in 1Corinthians 3:6. If God is all powerful AND wants all people to come and serve HIM, shouldn't his making a person grow work on ALL people?

Those ass emblies are so draining on the soul. The people there would be so happy to be "taught by Jehovah" but rush out of there like a madden herd of bulls after the final prayer, only to be in silence all the way home. What a crappy way to spend the weekend. Endless recounting of the same nonsense over and over and OVER again, each ass embly being the same as the last just spun differently to match their crappy theme.
Sorry for your wife zeb. That sucks that she feels the need to subject her brain to that mental jump roping. Hopefully she got a little nap during the shortened Watchtower.

I've been embarrassed so many times!
by stillin ini was kind of proud to go out in field service, most of the time.
important message, straight from god to their doors, right?.
but if you met with the group and didn't have previous arrangements, you could end up with the village idiot for a companion.

The pickins became slim in my service group before we left The Borg. Either they were too old and crusty to go d2d or they were crazy and made trouble for the householder. We even had one who unfortunate for her had frequent seizures and was seriously scary to work with. I felt bad for her but at the same time she had no business doing the work. Top it off she never took her seizure meds so it was very stressful to have her in your group.
One old brother was "old school" and he would start his presentation with, "Do you wanna die?" The conversation that ensued was lovely.
We lived near a small city with quite a few creeps and weirdos so many came in to "da truuf" from that area. So many creeps.....

I hope everyone's dinner was fantastic!
We had such a great day! I made gluten free pancakes and sausage and scrambled eggs for breakfast. My wife made gluten free yellow cake with chocolate frosting and no-bake cookies.
Dinner was amazing! Turkey with all the fixins with wonderful family and friends. Then my aunts friend sang a few songs she wrote and played guitar for us. Can't believe we have been missing out on this for so many years.

New Resolution?
by NikL inhad our midweek meeting last night.
they had a resolution to send an extra (i wanna say $1100 but i only remember it was at least $1000) per month to forward the kingdom preaching work etc.. you know how they work in the kh...no one votes against anything.
i abstained as i almost have always done.

I Found Something Better Than "The Truth"!

" such a brotherhood, they claim, would not exist outside the organisation because there is no way that people of different religions, nationalities, races, cultures, backgrounds, languages etc.
can be united and associate together freely without "the truth!".

There are lots of associations and organizations out there that have something better than the Borg, people who love unconditionally and don't look at you with eyes of judgement. We have met many since leaving that are 1000 times better than the witlesses. Compassionate Friends, Metro Share, Salvation Army and many other groups.
Even your run of the mill folk are better. We were bourbon tasting yesterday down in Louisville, Ky and ran into a couple from Texas. Two awesome people who we may have never given the time of day a few years back. Good people are everywhere, we just need to be willing to invite them into our lives.

The one oclock meeting
by Steel ini go to a hall (very rarely) with a single cong of about 60 people in a small city of maybe 10000. our board of elders is a bunch of childless weirdos or at least the ones that make an effort.. they recently changed the sunday meeting time from 10/12 to 1/ 3. a number of us are pissed off.
its makes to hard to drive to the city or go to a football game.. i just know the gestopo elders behind the change.
if your life isnt as miserable or pointless as theirs, they arent doing their job.
