William Malenfant's appalling hate speech - latest morning worship video
by doubtfull1799 inso he tries to prove that we are living in the last days without any evidence, but instead a series of unsubstantiated assertions ("never has there been a time with so much lack love and affection").
and uses things that are not even part of the so-called "sign" (abortions, pollution).
then proceeds to ridicule the "ridiculers," stereotype them, and declare they are only fit for destruction!.

The 1952 1st December Watchtower said
"But now, by occurrence of every detail of the great sign Jesus gave, we know that we face the imminent end of the present world system"
Imminent = about to happen, give or take 65 years or so! -

Ecclesiastes 7:10 says "Do not say. "Why were the former days better than these?" for it is not out of wisdom that you ask this.
Yes things were much better long ago back in the days of Vlad the Impaler, and a vast array of similar people who all lived long before 1914. The estimate for the death toll during the Taiping rebellion is 44 million and that was in 1850.
Anyone who says the world is so bad now never seems able to point to a specific time that they would like to go back to, when life was so much better, I think because it does not exist.

Outraged After Watching The May 2017 Broadcast
by pale.emperor inok, so i've just put myself through another months broadcast so i can see what bull they're feeding my still in relatives.
all was going fine... well, i say fine, i mean the usual cheesy videos, rehearsed reactions from jeffrey jackson (you remember him, the one who told half truths and lies at the royal commission) and propaganda from jw land.. the last feature brings up 9/11 and the paris 2015 attack at the bataclan.
just as im thinking "how are they gonna spin this in their direction" i hear these words:.

There was a demo one meeting I went to where the householder was told how terrible the world was because some children were killed at a school, but very soon God will fix that, everybody nodded. How good that will be. Nobody seemed to think what that means. According to what they believe thousands or millions or even billions of children exactly the same as the ones they talked about will be killed very soon by God at Armageddon, but that's OK?
Help! Sometimes I think I am missing something - its the switch at the back of the head that must be switched to "brain set to idle" before the meeting stats.

Circuit Overseer's Idiotic Comment
by FedUpJW inat last night's clam the circuit overseer made this comment, "we elders sometimes have to act as judges in the congregation.
but we (the elders) are imperfect, and so cannot know everything about judicial matters.
that is why we (the elders) have the biblical rule that there must be at least two witnesses to wrongdoing.

The Elders are imperfect the C.O. is imperfect everybody is imperfect, but what about the "two witnesses" being imperfect, colluding against someone they don't like, getting their facts wrong. Oops just stoned to death/disfellowshipped the wrong person.

I feel like I'm losing my religion/faith
by christina1111 ini'm a baptized jw...been baptized for 8 years...and throughout the years i've been baptized i see "hypocrisy" so to speak in the religion...when you're new and not baptized that's when the jws want to invite you to every gathering they have, they want to appear like they're your best friend...they want to help you out when needed and so forth...however, once you're baptized you go to the elders for help they don't help you....all they do is gather you around the office...have bibles in hand and so forth...they give you articles as well, instead of physically helping you out....but yet when you weren't baptized they would physically help you out and not throw scriptures and articles in your face.
also when you ask for help and so forth with the bros/sisters they want to throw the "each one must carry his/her own load" scripture at you.....but yet what happened to the scripture of taking care of widows and people who are orphans?.
it's not just one congregation...throughout the 8 years i've been baptized i've been through many kingdom halls...many towns...many states...when i was inactive for awhile i even pretended to not be baptized and just play dumb when the witnesses came to my door...they're much nicer to you when you're not baptized then when you are baptized...why is that?.

Christina I agree with you totally, have experienced the same thing. The "love" is like the thinnest veneer you can imagine, a little scrape an it's gone. A bit after Miss, Mr or Mrs Smith is baptized and becomes Sister/Bro Smith you can almost hear the big switch marked "Pretend to care" being clicked to the off position. Job done.

To me even if it isn't it seems much much longer. Feels like time to go home, then you have the "book study" tacked on at the end, most people seem to have given up by then judging by the sea of the same three hands up to answer.

Skinned and Thrown About.....
by Tech49 inthis is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".
with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".
recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

They are all part of the "Bethel Family"
I often see families booting their children out of the house when they are no longer required.
Oh wait no I don't. Not sure what dictionary they are using.

Honest Questions About Child Abuse
by Richard Oliver ini have two honest questions for everyone here.
i understand that most here want retribution from the courts against watchtower for child abuse allegations.
but let us take away the instances where someone was accused of child abuse and then later put back into a position of authority, such as an elder or an ms. let us just take the cases where a regular publisher or even an appointed person, with no previous accusation of child abuse has come up against that person.

Many people have given reasoned well explained answers to the original question. There has been lots of useful information presented by the forum contributors it's just a pity more people could not read these.
Oh wait if you type into Google "sue Watchtower over child abuse" this whole thread along with Richards original question appears 5th on the list.
Well Done Richard.
