This may have been mentioned, but my husband says that men are being fed this crap too. They are being told that hitting their mate is not a serious offense and that how their women should behave is more important.
Even if he never hits her, this twisted idea of headship ruins marriages.

The JW religion claims that the truth is black and white in the scriptures. Without Holy Spirit, many are deceived as to their meaning. We are also told to test things and not be deceived... look at 2 John and 1 John. It is about balance.

yesterday i was reflecting on how being raised jw has effected my body image.
i remembered an assembly talk from a couple of years ago.
the speaker was doing your normal talk about modesty in dress.
Huh. yep. I figured out about a month before we left the org that I looked like crap in a bathing suit because I was so concerned about being modest. My daughter and I both got two pieces and we feel so much better about ourselves wearing them.
