Try reading Ruth Beechick's books on Genesis and world history. Also the Archaeology book from the Wonders of Creation Series. Try obtaining some of the books in their bibliographies. You can think that they are laughable if you want, but I would read them before passing judgment.

Do JWs have a biblically normative relationship with Jesus christ?
by Vanderhoven7 ini would say that that would be impossible...given that jesus christ is simply an angelic being in wts eyes.. jehovah's witnesses have about as much a relationship with the angel gabriel as they do with jesus.. and, no...tacking on the name of jesus at the end of a prayer is not evidence of relationship..

hmmm, interesting, reading the Hebrew Scriptures is what convinced me that Jesus of Nazareth is Christ, Messiah, Savior, God.

Apostates are to be "LOATHED"...
by Lied2NoMore inthis weekend assy first day thankfully over!
had a good laugh at arrogant prick do last talk saying apostates are to be "loathed" and used a scripture in psalms that simply had the word "loathe" in it to support his weak point.
im gonna happen by him tomorrow and tell him his final talk had such an impact on me i tore out proverbs, ecclesiastes, and song of solomon out of my bible cause those books were written by an apostate.

I was immediately more loving and less judgmental upon accepting Christ alone to lead me, so I will happily continue as I am.

However, that you would expect others on this forum to be convinced that there was a divine purpose in the Jehovian genocidal rages of the OT, its divinely sanctioned mistreatment of women and the tacit approval of Abraham's willingness to kill his son if so ordered by God and the primitive portrayal of the supposed "One true God" as an unhinged jealous superbeing is surprising.
You are correct. That would be surprising. No one (including myself) can come to an understanding of what was going on in the OT without Christ as their teacher.

The Bible is a rich source of vengefully hate-ridden sentiments, leavened occasionally by some squishy love-laced texts.
I completely disagree. If you look at the NT in context, both in the Bible book and the historic context of the writing then you can't use the NT in a legalistic way. Reading the NT all the way through rather than a verse here and there puts things into perspective with messages of love and freedom. The key is understanding the purpose of the OT.
The purpose of the Bible is to lead one to Christ. Those that have that connection directly with Christ do not focus on the legalistic, hate-filled messages in their ministry. Those who have a direct connection with Christ do not let men affect them with legalistic hate filled messages.

That's one fancy trick
by N.drew inrevelation 6:1-2. the watchtower has jesus in heaven with the one seated upon the throne (revelation 5:1) pictured as a lamb (revelation 5:6)and at the same time (6:1) as a rider on a white horse (revelation 6:2).
one of the four living creatures says (with of voice as of thunder) come!
all authority had been given jesus in heaven and on earth.

Describe 'normative', are you wanting to follow the Eastern Orthodox traditions, Coptic, RCC, Protestant, Oneness, Unitarian, or Rabbinic ideas.
Designs:
Van said Biblically normative. I know Eastern Orthodox, RCC and Protestant Christians personally who all have a Biblically normative relationship with Jesus Christ. As far as I know Coptic is similar to these. I would assume that Unitarians do not, as their churches do not pray to him.
There are also Eastern Orthodox, RCC and Protestant Christians who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Sadly they fall into the same trap that JWs fall into and have a relationship with their church, their priest, their denomination, their Bible, their Pope, but not with Jesus Christ. Not the full relationship that is Biblically required.
Sincerely,
Carmen

As I understood it the reason the JW's say Jesus used different physical forms was not only because they say he was a spirit. It is also an attempt to reconcile the Bible showing no one recognized him, even his closest associates.
If you read the accounts in the Bible, the reason that they did not recognize him is there. It was dark, she was crying, and had not looked in his direction yet... He purposely clouded their vision so that they would not recognize him, etc. Not because he had a different body.
