  Phone call from a brother last night

  the brother and his wife thought the statement at the end of this month's broad cast show was a little off.

  the org stated that jehovah's organisation can not be corrupted.

  (needless to say only three had shown up for the broadcast meeting at the hall) he's never heard that before so we filled him in as to what the org has been up to and gave him jwnet, jw facts as well as jw survey to look at.

  i am asking because i know some publishers on my cong that already seen the pics from elders who attended the presentation.

  also made me wonder how long would it be before they have to dedicate a section of the meeting (local needs?

  JWdaughter: Just found that Kingdom Hall. Doesn't quite look like the new design, but it is definitely commercial instead of residential.

  The street view on Google must be old because there is a commercial sign that says "Kingdom Hall" but no JW.ORG logo that I could see.

  Golden Rule: Pure Garbage?

  on another thread a poster made the comment that the golden rule was garbage.

  she said it was arrogant and made assumptions.. i didn't want to derail that thread so i started another wondering if this is a common thought about this belief on this forum.

  i guess i naively thought the value of doing to others as you want them to do to you was generally accepted as positive.. i understand people have different opinions of jesus as a person but i don't want to get into that here.

  The reason it works is not because of the golden rule itself being good, it's because we are acting in ways that that are generally acceptable in society and are societal norms. When different cultures meet, it often ends in misunderstanding, sometimes hilarious, sometimes deadly, when the golden rule is applied.

  This is actually an excellent point.

  i had the misfortune of being born into the jw faith.

  however, i thank god every day that i was disfellowshipped otherwise i would never have found the truth.

  good riddance to the watchtower bible track societys false publications, especially that book they claim contains the holy scriptures it is deceitful and full of darkness, and gets darker with every revision!
