i've been df'd for about six weeks now.no one has broken the obligation to "honor the disfellowshipping decree".that's the way notorious co paul kohler describes the "loving arrangement" that is jw shunning.
( just "serving" napa ).
so, my wife's family has been "loving me" ( barf ) when out of nowhere, one of them sends home homemade soup for me.... well, i got super pissed.
my wife is shunning me.
she is always in cult mode, we don't talk anymore, we don't sleep in the same bed.
i have been sleeping on the couch.
GTTM: Sorry you're going through this. I don't have any advice for you. I wish I did. Other's here are far more experienced in handling the "divided household" aspects. I was fortunate enough that my wife was ready to wake up when I started talking to her about my doubts.
My thoughts are with you man.
To Sophia Lose(r): Man up? Really? Why don't you "man up" and stop being anonymous? Oh, what's that? You're anonymous because you're afraid of some kind of loss (family and/or friends)? Dude, maybe that's why GTTM is playing it cool.
recently i have just started looking into what buddhism is all about.
i rather like the idea of a personal spirituality.
of trying to be a better person and an acceptance of the reality of life and trying to find an inner peace and contentment.. anyway, i came across this today.
You might enjoy this article by Sam Harris about appreciating Buddhism without all the supernatural mumbo jumbo.
“Kill the Buddha,” says the old koan. “Kill Buddhism,” says Sam Harris, author of The End of Faith, who argues that Buddhism’s philosophy, insight, and practices would benefit more people if they were not presented as a religion.
jehovahs people do not beg for money.
[...] we have never considered it proper to solicit money for the lords cause, after the common custom .
it is our judgment that money raised by the various begging devices in the name of our lord is offensive, unacceptable to him, and does not bring his blessing either upon the givers or the work accomplished.

I consider myself a Secular Buddhist.
I don't buy into the supernatural reincarnation beliefs. But I buy into the core philosophy.
And Mindfulness Meditation and Zazen Meditation has been very enjoyable and refreshing.
I recommend at the very least, try meditation. The demons won't get you.
years ago i remember there being a number of sites with pretty extensive archives of watchtower publications online.
can anyone direct me to the best current site for this material?
in particular i am looking for a booklet from 1898 called "the bible vs. the theory of evolution".
i have noticed that many lately have left the org or are in the process of leaving.
how many of you have left since 2015?.
this month will be my 21 years out of the org into the road of freedom.
special pioneers let go.
bethel workers laid off.
construction halts, what's next?
Going Bankrupt isn't the end of a company, and it won't end the Borg, although it may wake up some people.
MGM filed for Bankruptcy in 2010 and they still exist as a company.
the wt society is fond of using the tilt-up method of construction where a network of rebar is made on the ground, concrete poured on it and allowed to cure, then the whole thing is tilted up and voila' you've got yourself a massive big-ass wall ready made.
these walls for several stories-high buildings are indeed massive and weighty so you need a heavy-duty crane to raise into position.. i just heard from an eye-witness ldc volunteer that while there a few weeks ago they had an enormous accident.
the crane tilted and crashed, the only one hurt was its operator.
I just now saw this.
I'm wondering if it was indeed a volunteer or one of the worldly outside contractors that got hurt. I heard they were hiring third-party contractors for much of the heavy stuff at Warwick.
