At the (ever so slight) risk of revealing my identity, I have a life-long friend who has a brother in the Legal Department who he went to visit last month up in Patterson. When he was asked by someone how things were going, he said, and I quote, "Very very busy. I'm working until 7 or 8 every night. Jehovah's Chariot is moving ahead!"
Obviously, hearsay.
All I could think of was that there must be a lot of Pedo cases for them to have him work overtime and miss the mid week meeting.

I have no Real Friends!
by stuckinarut2 ini have come to a startling and sad realisation!.
i have no real friends!.
i have always been extremely active in every aspect of the org, since childhood.

Just about all my childhood friends are out of the organization now and I have lost touch with them because I believed I was "doing the right thing."
One is in Jail because he got involved with the Zetas (mexican cartel).
The others that aren't "in" anymore, I have no idea where they are now. They're either not on Facebook, or they have their settings set to not show up in search results.
I would love to reach out to them, but I have a feeling that even though they are "out," they may not be trustworthy and keep it to themselves.

Interesting statement made by CO. Is this new?
by stillin inin his first talk of the week the co mentioned that people don't get df'd for joining the military or registering to vote because they are already gone, as compared with smoking secretly, which would merit df'ing.. i have been toying around with registering to vote in the next election (us) so this intrigues me..

I don't know about registering to vote (I accidentally registered once by checking the wrong box when renewing my license), but if it becomes known that you actually voted, they will DA you. -

I think after the way Barbara Anderson was treated/railroaded , any leaks or whistleblowers will be anonymous where it can't be traced or detected.

JW's NOT identified by a symbol!!
by The Searcher in*** km 9/74 p. 8 question box ***as jehovahs servants we.....................do not want to give others the impression that the tetragrammaton is the symbol of jehovahs witnesses as a whole.
we have no organizational symbol to identify ourselves but show that we are jehovahs christian witnesses by living in harmony with gods will.john 13:35.. don't you just love those "old" lights?.

Rev 17:9 - Thoughts?
by leaving_quietly inrev 17:9 describes something about the "woman", the harlot, babylon the great:.
here is where the intelligence that has wisdom comes in: the seven heads mean seven mountains, where the woman sits on top.
and there are seven kings: five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet arrived, but when he does arrive he must remain a short while.. i was dreaming about this verse last night, so i thought i'd look it up.

I'm at the point right now that I don't know what to believe anymore.
To my born-in JW brain, Revelation - It's Grand Climax at Hand made a lot of sense.
Now that I question certain doctrines that have been so ingrained into my psyche (607, 1914), I don't know if I believe the "party line" on the Revelation interpretation.
I don't even know if I believe I'm living in the last days.
It's a very surreal and weird experience.

1 Timothy 5:8 - Providing for one's household....materially or spiritually?
by cappytan inthe searcher brought this scripture up on another thread:.
(1 timothy 5:8) "certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith.
" [disowned jehovah].

I really had never heard this application until the last 3 or 4 years, personally. Maybe 5.
As a born-in, from my perspective that's kind of recent. But, I'm sure it could be that I've only noticed it recently. It could be that for years I never even paid attention to it's application.

This is just getting plain ridiculous.
I worked in the legal field for years as a secretary. I was a transcriptionist, and eventually landed the title of Legal Secretary. A Legal Secretary was basically a Paralegal without a degree. In the office I worked for, you did almost everything a Paralegal did with a little more filing and transcription thrown in and a little less time spent on research.
However, in order to be a Lawyer or a Paralegal, you HAVE to have a college education!

I thought I'd make a new thread instead of highjacking that other one.
Did you know they're trying to apply this to spiritual matters now?
Brother on Platform: "Yes, we need to provide for our families materially. That's the reality of the world in which we live. But even more important than materially is providing for them spiritually! Do you think that Paul would put material things as a higher priority than spiritual matters? Of course not! So he was likely referring to providing for your household in a spiritual sense!"
Sheeple: "oooooooo.....ahhhhhhhhh....I see the light now! Monday morning I'm quitting my job and pioneering! Jehovah will provide!
