as an elder, i used to find a legitimate reason to wander.
I text an awake friend. Kept me sane tonight. (if you're reading this, c'mon sign up dude!)
Awake in your congregation?
I wish I had an Awake friend in my cong.
back in the day, if someone was put on probation for an offence, rather than being disfellowshipped, if he re-offended whilst that probation was in force, disfellowshipping was automatic.
normally a probation lasted 12 months.
after the probation was finished that was it.
TTATTelder:
That 6 month thing seems so arbitrary. So, 7 months means he was repentant, but 6 doesn't? It's so ridiculous.
I'm actually glad that I found TTATT now that I'm a chill adult. I don't have any "desires incidental to youth," or want to step out on my wife, I'm not a liar.
The only thing I could be DFd for right now is Apostasy, but since no one knows I know TTATT, that won't happen unless I say/do something stupid.

call in on phone, turn down sound and go do other things at home.
Haha! I've called in on phone, turned down the volume and then watched DVR'd Game of Thrones. Then just turned the phone up briefly to see if anyone was disfellowshipped/reinstated or if there were any letters read. Then, turn it back down and finish Game of Thrones.

As a designer, I'm Actually considering creating ePub/mobi files that have pictures from that week's meetings or that look like the JW Library app, but are actually Sci Fi short stories. You'll even be able to highlight them to make it look like you studied.
would others be interested in that? If I do it, I'll make them publicly available if there's an interest in this.

campaign of hate: If kids start getting baptized at 8-12, there is going to be a s*** load of dfings and reprovings in the next 5-10 years.
Teenagers are teenagers after all, baptized or not.
All the born-in kids in my home congregation where I grew up got baptized young. The youngest was 10, the oldest they waited was 14.
This was the 90's also. Pre-teen and early teen baptism has been going on for a long time.

After watching it he is likely supposed to be a teenager perhaps 13 or 14.I agree that this is still too young however it is NOT caleb.
Agree. At youngest, I thought the kid could pass for 12, maybe 11. Insisting he's 10 or younger is like insisting on 607BCE.

If you can stomach it, I found the video on YouTube. (I don't want to give their jw [dot] org website any additional traffic.)
