killerjones, from this other thread, made an interesting comment (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/94810001/you-might-j-w?page=4#/96370003.

fun with the book of jobjob ch 1 vs4 they celebrated birthdays.
] and it was several days long...new international version4 his sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.orother version...4 his sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
[how would a jw twist the following scripture that says job offered a sin offering in case the sinned...]5.after a series of banquet days was complete, job would send for them in order to sanctify them.
Here's how deceitful the Revised NWT is on this Job birthday issue:
In Job 1:4, there is no context to indicate that the phrase translated "on his day" really does indicate birthdays. It is the logical conclusion that it refers to birthdays, but there's nothing concrete to point a JW to in the surrounding verses.
Until you come to Job 3:1:
Old NWT: "It was after this that Job opened his mouth and began to call down evil upon his day."
When you read that verse in context with Job 3:2, you see that Job calling down evil upon his day is him calling down evil on his birthday.
So, one could previously read these verses together and prove that the term "on his day" in Job 1:4 refers to birthdays, not just some special day.
However, here is how the Revised NWT renders Job 3:1 now:
"It was after this that Job began to speak and to curse the day of his birth."
So, now, using only the Revised NWT, you can't point to Job 3:1 to show that Job 1:4 was referring to birthdays.
Obviously, a actual student of the Bible would read multiple translations and see that Job 1:4 definitely was referring to birthdays. However, as we know, the Rank & File JW doesn't do that kind of research into their doctrine, and if they did, they're not likely to use any other translation or version of the Bible other than their own Silver Sword.

if getting ready means putting on a suit........ you might be a j.w.. if going out to the field has nothing to do with grass, baseball diamonds, or football ......... you might be a j.w.. please continue my friends.......i know ya got some.....; ).
If you think prayer is an effective treatment for depression, you might be a JW.
If a Winnebago is the last thing you think of when someone says "RV," you might be a JW.
If you owned more than 5 briefcases before the age of 18, you might be a JW.
If stocking up on brochures was part of your "back-to-school" routine, you might be a JW.

steve2 initiated a discussion on how our former loving brothers and sisters are behaving, while engaging in the 'trolley work.
' (link: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/93590001/within-one-minute-jw-trolley-directs-me-jw-org ).
my own observations are the same as the posters report on steve2's thread.
My mother started a study about 2 months ago with someone she met while wheeling one of these trolleys around.
She's still studying with her.
But that's the only good experience I've ever heard beyond, "We placed so many magazines today!"

Every and ev'ry are sung pretty much the same ... do they really need to do that?
Some folks down here say "Ev-uh-ree" when pronouncing "every." It annoys the heck out of me.
