What a bunch of BS. Besides, his first talk? He's like 17 - I gave my first talk when I was 7. And I just know that the old german dude will start prattling on about how he was encouraged in sports when he was in the Hitler Youth.

I read them. I was attempting to get an understanding of where the fundamentalist literalists are coming from. I found them to be mildly entertaining, but written in a pretty juvenile style. I thought the quality of the writing was pretty poor and that it panders to the lower intellect of the majority of those who ascribe to fundamentalism. I will admit that it's a brilliant money maker. It's almost sickening that the devotees of Lehaye and those involved with his business trade on the hopes and fears of those "christians." They have made a fortune off these schmucks by selling the books and all the other crap that goes with it. The only thing I have a problem with is that they cloak themselves as religious leaders rather than the buisness people that they actually are.

My GF Told Me She Got Invited To Go To Dinner By A Very Nicely Dressed Man
by minimus inget this: she called me up to tell me a well dressed man came to her house and actually invited her for dinner, a "meal" at the local kingdom hall on the memorial evening.. he gave her the invitation to enjoy the meal with him and quite a few other people on the night the "meal" was being served.. i explained to her that the dinner only consisted of wine and unleavened bread and that she could only watch the bread and wine being passed but if she got a hold of the plate or the cup she had to just give it the next person.. she asked, "you mean there's no dinner like he said?
" i answered there was not.
and she said, "then forget it then!"..

I think it would be awesome to go invite a bunch of homeless alcoholics to come to the memorial...I'm talking transportation and all! Tell them there will be free wine, etc. That would be AWESOME!

That is such an odd description of Glen Beck, CoonDawg. You are saying that he is ok with spewing lies on a radio show to further a political agenda and make money. You are calling him completely corrupt and evil, which is not a bad thing, I was just curious if you knew that.
Of course I realize what I'm saying...that's what makes him reprehensible in my eyes. It's pretty clear that this is all about money for him, no matter who gets hurt in the process. I mean, really, this guy will schill for ANYTHING. Back when I was driving, I was on his show more than once as a caller, calling him on his bulls**t. I actually got on air several times. While originally his motives may have been benign, he's morphed into someone who has become a cartoon. He's the Samuel L Jackson or Gene Simmons of talk show hosts. That's what I was referring to when I mentioned his envy of Rush Limbaugh. Rush, no matter what you think of his politics or his methods, is a very very successful businessman and he's the envy of every rightwing talker. I remember when Beck first started with CNN - it was just an experimental project with no real hard hitting news to it. He originally stated that it was a mood lightener - entertainment to break the mood on an otherwise "serious" news channel. Then when he went to far for the CNN audience, Faux was only too happy to pick him up to show what big meanies the "liberal" media was being to one of the right's own. It's funny that everyone has such short memories.

I used to listen to him and other righty talk-shows back when I was trucking. Beck made no secret back then that his show was BS and meant to be entertainment. While I agree that he's much like a WWE wrestler in that he knows he's acting much of the time, I also believe that he has chosen to use his gullible audience that may not realize that he's spouting bullshit on purpose to further a particular agenda. His drive is that he's a former pill popper and alcoholic and he wants to give his second chance all he can. He dreams of being the next Rush Limbaugh with the media empire that goes with it.

History of vaccinations
by Dagney ini was raised in a household that was deathly afraid of vaccinations.
i never understood why, really didn't bother to think about it...afterall, the devil was in science and i was going to be in the paradise with my pet tiger and lion really soon.
i learned about the wtbs opinions on vaccinations from jwd eventually.

Dagney, I was also in one of those families. I've never been vaccinated and actually, it will be back to haunt me soon. When I go on to pursue my graduate degree, all of the public universities that are possible for me to attend require proof of vaccination...so I guess after 40 years, I'll end up w/ getting the shots anyhow.
