Well, I'll probably be in my bathroom taking a healthy and cleansing DUMP! Kind of an association thing, I suppose.

for years i've been reading and talking to people who are out of the organization either by being df'ed or da'ed themselves from the so called "truth".. my main concern is that once the former jdubs are out, they start to reverse their thinking from everything the jdubs had learned that is considered a "no no", ranging from sex, satanism, getting into pornagraphy, drugs, alcohol, rock music, smoking, reading ouji boards and anything else they can get their hands into that was considered forbidden by the wt.
even some decided to reverse their thinking from believing "there is a god" to "there is no god".. while i can understand the anger and bitterness that has resulted from realizing how they have been deceived by the wt for many years.
i am concerned about the destructive behavior that ex-jdubs are getting themselves into.. sure it gives ex-jdubs a sense of total freedom and go wild on everything that was forbidden to them.
Well, as far as I'm concerned, I have done certain things that are prohibited by JW doctrine, but not to excess. I am still the same family man. Did I have pre-marital sex? yes. Am I a male slut that cheats on his wife? nope. Have I been drunk? Yes. Did I irresponsibly drive and put others at risk? nope. Just because you do things that are taboo does not make you a bad person. As for my belief in god, or rather my lack thereof...that's something that I feel was coming on long before I ever left. It was a slow process of research and hoping to prove what I was finding as false. Sorry, but all this belief on a god requires the leap of faith that the bible is the inspired record, and thus far, I haven't found justification to hold this great book of jewish legends in any higher esteem than that....a book of legends with some good moral storys. Nothing more, nothing less.

when i look back on my years as a jw, i cant believe how i accepted so many of their teachings without proof.
as i think about it now, i sometimes really feel like a dumb ass.
i was watching a video of our ministry school from a few years ago and there is no way in hell i could sit and listen to that bull anymore.. when they say the faithful slave, my stomach turns.
Went to a meeting with my wife over the summer. After I went...i told her..."Honey, you know I love you and I'd do damn near anything for you. But, please don't ask me to come to the Kingdom Hall with you again. I just can't do it anymore." For me, I had to get up and go outside a couple of times, because I was getting so intensly angry. Certain things that the unqualified speaker said during the talk hit nerves with me...and don't even get me started on the regurgitation of the party line spiced with things to make the individual moron look intelligent...that's called the Watchtower Study. That meeting was pretty close to the time of the Dateline Special and so many tried to work this into their answers, even though it was in no way related to the discussion.
No, thanks! No more for me.

yeah?
the dog.
as our community continues to grow, the jwotw is committed to provide a clean environment for jehovah's witnesses online to associate with one another.
Well, it's only appearing as new because of a reorganization. I know that this site has been around a little while becaus I am a clandestine member there. Mostly lurking when there's a $hit storm going on about something or other. You're right, it's mostly boring...all just touchy-feely-rose colored glasses spouting the party line kind of stuff.

this was posted in nov by namewithheld: "link, yes, if a baptised jw does not turn in time on a slip of paper, they are not counted as a 'publisher' for that month.
so indeed, it is true that there are more baptised jws than the number of publishers reported.
on the other hand, you can be counted a publisher and not be baptised jw.
I remember when I became a publisher, I just started turning in time slips and trying to get that .30 for each set of magazines I sold. Of course, we were supposed to keep the money to buy more magazines...but mine always went to BREAK -TIME!

jw kids = "children of the corn".
growing up as a j-dub, i have seen all of the special treatment most jw kids and elders kids recieved in general.
while, no you were not allowed to celebrate holidays, etc, being a jw child meant you could do no wrong.
It also meant you go presents throughout the year for good behaviour, just because, etc. In this way, you didn't really miss anything around the holidays. :)
Must have been nice. I kinda always felt that the 'dubs were a haven for lots of chep bastards that didn't want to buy stuff for their kids. Guess maybe it was just my dad.

i remember years ago after giving a public talk, the sister who was playing the piano had to rush to the front of the hall to get ready to play the opening song for the watchtower study.
what she didn't realize was that her dress was neatly tucked in to her pantyhose for all to see, since she had just come out of the bathroom.
the attendant was trying to literally run behind her to tell her of what she was exposing, but couldn't keep up with her.
We had moved to a small town in KS, I think mainly for my dad to escape the stigma of his "sins" that had been exposed in another congregation. We had an ol' country boy there, who's name was Bud. He used to give talks and make references to "the book of Palms"...and once in a prayer, he asked god to bless the "faithful and greek slave". He would always say these two the same way every time. I got to where I would cringe, knowing it was on it's way.
I also once was so bored at the bookstudy that, even though i was the reader, I dozed off on stage.

as of 8:30 pm this evening the appeal hearing decided to uphold the decision.
i spoke to them for over an hour and tried to reason with them as to the validity of their decision.
frankly, they were not interested.
Dear Bill,
I am glad that you have been so firm in your stand. I am sure that you have always known that you would never be able to remain for long while still being so vocal on this subject, yet it is a sobering realization that these men have the ability to overlook the injustices in the interests of keeping things covered over. I am sorry that your wife, too...by her mere presence and lack of being outspoken against you, will soon join you as DF. After all, look at Barb's husband. He was ousted on trumped up charges ASAP. I thank you again for all of your hard work, and I will try to contact you when I am in your area again. Hope to talk to you soon.

i received this e-mail this morning and have been thinking about it all day.
maybe i shouldn't be posting this since it is an e-mail addressed to me, but i want your opinions.
what i did is i left out the name.
If everyone had the same moral
> standards and loyally love that the JW's have we would have peace on earth!
My mom asked me this very thing. My response was that we'd still have a world with imperfection. What makes them think that they are better than any others? NEWSFLASH: They still have adulterers, theives, liars, murderers, sexual predators and all the other afflictions that are upon the human race. She didn't like this info from me...so she spoke to my wife at a later time. She asked my wife the same question....(my wife is still an active 'dub, but pretty liberal...hey, she still loves this heathen.) My wife gave her almost the same reply, and we hadn't talked about this before my mom talked to her.
