i was wondering if anyone else on this board had an experience similar to mine.
when i was 7-12 years old, i was sexually abused by my dad (also a witness) and i confided in another witness- a friend of the family's.
he also ended up walking in on the abuse at one point.

There are lots of us who are the wreckage that is left behind in the wake of sexual abuse. My sisters were abused when I was growing up...and yes, it was by a "brother" who still has never been DF'd. My daughter was recently a victim too, and it has been covered over by the WTS and the local elders, as well as my exwife. believe me when I say that I understand where your hatred comes from.

so many posters do not know what the apostrophe is for or is not for.
First of all...I don't know what in the hell all y'all's problem is! Who cares if someone don't quite get their grammar right when they are in an emotional state. Also...As a beer drinker, I make it my personal policy to NEVER read, let alone post at this forum without hoisting at least a few helpings of 12 oz. nutrition. How else can I deal with AR grammar freaks?

i have read many posts old and new and can't help but wonder why many of you just don't let it go?

I am glad that you two are so happy in your dubdom. Personally, pretty much ALL of my dealings with the elders that according to the WT are "appointed by Jehovah's Holy Spirit" and thus are the instruments of god, have been nothing short of hell.
I have a 9 year old daughter who lost her innocence at the tender age of 6 by one of your "brothers"...guess what...even after all the dateline and Panorama publicity...these brainiac elders and the society-who you seem to hold in such esteem- decided that it was better to disregard the law and not report my daughter's abuse to the authority. Yep, I already have done so since then...but I am angry and have every right to be so. Ikhandie...if I could let it go...I would. I felt I was on the edge of reaching a breakthrough in that very vein before my world and the world was shattered by my only child revealing to me the abuse that was suffered at the hands of a "christian." Also...I have made my feelings known to HQ. Believe me, they've grown tired of speaking to me on the telephone. From now forward, the matter is in the hands of the lawyers.

Guess that'd have to describe me. I think that I believe in mankind's potential. The "Golden Rule" is merely a regurgitation of a line of thought that has proven true throughout existence. Oh, sure it's pharased differently from culture to culture, but it means the same thing. As the wiccans have put it : "Harm No one." If people can see the wisdom of striving to live by this, much of man's problems can be alleviated.

One of my best memories is of my playing hooky and sneaking off to New Orleans w/ my wife. There's nothing like sitting down off of Jackson Square at 2 am after crawling the clubs for coffee and beignet.

i just arrived there yesterday afternoon where my bro-in-law dropped me off.
my first night's sleep wasn't exactly eventful since there is no beds available and i have to sleep on the pews which my body doesn't exactly agree with hard wood and no cushion on it.
so i didn't sleep very well.

I know how depressing things can be and how they can all seem to close in upon you. Attitude is a big part. Right now, though my situation is nowhere as near as desperate as yours, I know what it means to be having a hard time finding employment. It's a real blow to anyone. It's good to hear that you are getting the basics of shelter, and rest assured that many of us have either been in your shoes or are close to someone who is or has been. Myself, I always try to be supportive of those in dire straits and help support the groups that help them. My sister (older) has been homeless before in a distant part of the country, and I was unalbe to assist her in any real practical way. I am ever greatful for places like the Salvation Army and the church shelters, and feel the necessity to try to repay some of their kindness. I think that this time in your life can serve to make you a very compassionate individual. Just remember that someone (or a lot of someones) are doing a good turn to you. When you are on your feet and things are better for you, don't forget that. Pass it on to someone else. "Pay it Forward" if you will.
My thoughts are with you, and Noblesville is a nice town. I use to go there almost every Monday morning.

So...Go Back! Nobody's stopping you but yourself and your own doubts. If you think that you can tell yourself "don't be gay" and that it's going to happen, you have deeper problems within yourself than what the elders at your local KH can help you with. If you want to go back...just remember that those elders that DF you will know why you were DF. If you don't think that they won't place a stigma against you and that this won't eventually be a subject in the rumor mill, you are only kidding yourself.
Hey, do whatever you feel you have to in order to lead a complete and productive life. If that means going back to the JW's...well, knock yourself out.
BTW...I don't agree with the war, but it's not any different than Hitler's ascent to power in the Germany of the 1930's. People looked and saw then too. You think people didn't cry "doom and gloom" when he annexed austria and czecoslovakia? Of course they did. They could see what his imperial aims were...thinly disguised "liebensraum". There will probably be other conflicts past this one too. Yes, there will be loss of life. Yes, it will probably pretty bad with global implications. Yes, this will forever change the world scene...but that which we endure makes us stronger.
As long as nations keep repeating the mistakes of the past, there will always be these tragic conflicts.
Don't fret...just try to be content with who you are and with your life.

is it just me, or has the society changed the way they title their literature; a change that has taken place in just the last few years?
what i mean is that the titles for publications these days are much more direct (to the point of being very awkward sounding) and are subtley designed to make someone do something -- right from the start with the title itself.
examples?
How about "uh-oh!"
or maybe "Oh, S*it!"
But my favorite would be "Sorry!"

Yep...Mr. Rogers will be missed. He was part of my daily ritual at the age of 3. It was Mr. Roger's Neighborhood followed by Sesame Street and concluded with The Electric Company. I used to love the journeys to Never Never Land with the Trolley. Being able to take the trolley to another world was the subject of many of my early fantasies. Trolley took me to all kinds of far off places in my dream where I met all sorts of wonderful people.
Mr. Rogers.....In this day of computer anmation and special effects...your show was probably considered "cheezy". But know that you impacted more than one generation in a very good way. You will be missed.
