I've always typed with both hands, though before highschool, I kind of developed a home-made system that worked for me. Eventually, I took a typing class and kicked serious ass....especially for a dude. I remember my sophomore year, I talked my way onto the newspaper staff. When we were prepping our first issue, my teacher finally noticed how I was typing. He couldn't believe that I'd talked my way into his class when I hadn't had any formal typing instruction. But, hey, I was always ahead of deadline and my stuff looked as good as anybody's. It's one of the skills I use most.

Mine is from the movie 1984. INGSOC is "newspeak" for English Socialism. In the politics of 1984, there are 3 classes within the party, the inner party, the outer party and the proles. I found this much like the JW's...where you have the inner party (i.e. Governing Body and the decision makers) the Outer Party (those at Bethel, CO's, DO's as well as elders) and then you have the proles (i.e. rank and file JW) The party is always issuing pronouncements changing history and language. For me, the similarities were too stark to ignore.

I like Frank Calliendo and Mike Berbiglia. Tim Bedore is also great...and Shit...there are just too many to pick favorites. I'm a Bob and Tom listener. All those "new" commedians you see on Last Comic Standing....heard 'em on Bob and Tom way before they were on TV. Even greats like Jeff Foxworthy, Lewis Black, George Lopez and other HUGE names in comedy give props to those guys for giving new comics a chance.

My wife used to want me to pray with her over meals. Eventually I told her how silly that notion was...that she would ask ME - someone with no belief in God - to pray to god on her behalf..simply because I wear the penis. I said - "Why do you want me to sit and by rote, say things that we both know I don't beleive? Do you really believe that my prayers for you would be anything more than hot air rising to the ceilin?" She stopped asking me to do it. I felt bad because I know it kind of hurt her feelings, but Jeez...don't put me in that position. Now I go to my mom's with my wife to have dinner and one of them prays over the food and I sit quietly out of respect for them. They don'[t even put a napkin on their heads or anything.

My wife is 52 and has had type 2 diabetes since her late 20's. She recently found out she has congestive heart failure that will only get worse with time. She was one who was on Avandia for a short time. That's what caused her congestive heart failure. So far, we haven't had any real crisis situation...but it could happen any time. We ac`tually got papers from a law office to join a class action suit against the drug manufacturer because this has definitely shortened her life expectation. She fluctuates with her water retention, some times as much as 12lbs in a 24 hour period.
Good luck, Yiz. Just want you to know you are not alone and I'll have you and your wife in my thoughts.

ya thx. by the way not my sister... my sister is younger and doesnt speak to me.. this is someone who calls herself my best friend... i thought best friends were supposed to llove unconditionally. but aparently a matter of religion is an overbearing condition that one cannot get past. oh and i know about the guilt that is all that anyone has said to me about the whole thing is how guilty i should be. as if the fact that others feel bad should be the determining factor in choosing a religion... i should make a way of life for myself because i might hurt someones feelings... that is not me..
I had a good friend who eventually tried the same kind of crap with me. His wife was giving his 17 kinds of hell for communicating with me. So, I wrote him a letter that harkened back to some of the times in our relationship. Eventually, I told him "I always thought our relationship was more than a shared faith...that it transcended a common belief." I went on to recall specific times when I was there for him as a friend when other witness "friends" had abandoned him or had no advice to give him other than the empty scriptures they always fall back on. I then told him that it was his choice wether our friendship continued. I told him (in so many words) "when you get your head out of your ass and quit bing a morally superior prick, you know where to find me. I'll always be your friend."
His cold shoulder treatment lasted about 2 months and then I got a letter from him apologizing and asking me to forgive his being such an a-hole. To this day, despite his wife's cautions of me being "bad association" he still calls me...especially when he's down or having marriage problems because as he's said I "really talk to him, not pointing to the bible or a WT publication".
You never know, chellechelle, things can change with an individual.

Okay...I'm a George Thorogood kind of guy.. One Bourbon, One Scotch and one Beer...
First the bourbon..: Makers Mark or Jim Beam black label
Then the scotch... Glenlivet 16 yr old single malt...or any of a number of boutique scotches from the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society's casks will do.
Then - as to the beer...I like to try lots of different microbrews...but I'll generally buy Newcastle's brown ale, DosEquis or Heineken
However, when I'm out at the pub drinking, I'm lovin' me some Black and Tan...usually Guiness and Bass. Seriously good stuff my bro hooked me on while up in Portland.
