Billy, I like that reasoning. For them that means the end of discussion. How did lamas get to South America? They must be pretty good swimmers I guess.

Today's watchtower study was asking to be yelled at. So dumb. When they borught up the Big Bang theory I actually wanted to hold a speech and explain to them that it has nothing to do with evolution and does not contradict to their beliefs, but then I thought "let them make fun of themselves when they encounter a inteligent human being at the doors".
I don't know how much time I will be able to hold back my opinion.

What do you think about the latest Mentalist episode? (SPOILERS!)
by will-be-apostate inred john is sheriff thomas mcallister, which was a big surprise for me and also a bit dissapointing.
i was expecting a more complicated reveal of red john.
also the scene when jane kills him is just not that much epic as one would expect that it should be after 5 season of chasing.. however i look forward to see the way lisbon an the others get out of this mess.

Red John is Sheriff Thomas McAllister, which was a big surprise for me and also a bit dissapointing. I was expecting a more complicated reveal of Red John. Also the scene when Jane kills him is just not that much epic as one would expect that it should be after 5 season of chasing.
However I look forward to see the way Lisbon an the others get out of this mess. Who do you think that woman was who tried to kill Jane in the chapel? I hope that F.B.I guy turns out to be a Blake Association member.
Let's see if other xjws like watching The Mentalist.

Welcome to the forum thedog1. The upcoming months might will be very difficult. I know how you would like to tell everybody about what you have found out and to help them but at this stage what you have to do is to do nothing but learn more about the evidences that show this organization is not what it claims to be. 25 years is a long time, being an elder I assume your whole life was around doing God's will. We are here 24/7 to help you in this process. As an elder you know that you have to keep quite. Maybe you can help your family. Do you have kids? Just do me a favor: if they are not baptized yet promis me you won't help them on their way to the pool. Do anything that you can to raise them up normally. Let them hang out with their schoolmates, let them socialize. Thank you.
my best wishes, wba

I also know some that are very die hard jws when it is about manners and morality but in the meantime they go out in field service like 1 times a month. This is a deffinition of hypocrizy, I think.

How jw parents do their best to make their some feel guilt
by will-be-apostate ini've got a 6 years old brother who recently expressed his concerns about my spirituality.
he said that he had a dream about me being dead (i am at college, far away from my parents).
he also told my parents that he was afraid i would no longer be a jw and in that case he wouldn't hug me again anymore; and that he was crying and felt very sad.. my dad called me today and told me all this and more.

Xanthippe and Comatose - it is very comforting to know that :) Thank you for your support
Black Sheep - I like that kind of reasoning. I've noticed recently that even if I don't believe in the "truth" anymore, it is hard for me to express my piont or to prove them wrong. My grandmother told me that when they built their house back in the '70s they didn't use quality materials because they thought that Armageddon was coming in '75. My parents know about this too. No need to say they have backup proof for every doubt.
Julia Orwell and stillin - Thank you for the advices. That is what I will try to do. I'd like to make his childhood better even if the cult will most likely make him live in fear and rejection.
KateWild - I'm happy for you and your daughter :) Many would like to have a mom like you from this point of view.
The Searcher - That is a question I asked my father and some elders, mss too. The essence of the answer: "The bible doesn't forbid higher education just like it doesn't forbid consuming cigarettes and drugs" What a comparison! (irony)
Bruja-del-Sol - I hope your sister and parents will realize one day what they missed and come to know the truth about the truth.
Thanks to all of you for your uplifting and comforting replies. I talked with my little bro on phone and assured him about my love and care. I also told him that I didn't come to college to earn much money but to have a job that I like doing.
