The Bible or God? - A Message to Formerbrother
by David_Jay in“i still can not find any other option that comes as close to all the bible as jws do.”-- from the profile of formerbrother.. this is lengthy, but it should help you, formerbrother.
the problem is not in your search for this "option" but that you are searching according the criteria set out by the jehovah’s witnesses (and likely following the reasoning set out by their claims).. before proceeding, understand clearly (as there will always be someone reading this that will skip this point that i make) that i am not writing to advance any particular religious view.
though raised and baptized as a jehovah’s witness in my late teen years, i am jewish.

Two by Twos
by JohnKG ini've recently discovered this religion that has an uncanny similarity with the jehovah's witnesses.
it's like the watchtower from a parallel universe.

What evidence is there for a biblical jesus?
by Touchofgrey inis there any independently verified evidence that a miracle worker called jesus existed and did the things that the bible said he did?.
the four gospels were written by unknown authors many decades after the so called events, so can't be considered as eyewitness accounts.
i think that there may have been a apocalyptic preacher who was executed by the romans and the story evolved from their.

The academic consensus is that Jesus of Nazareth was a historical person.
The supernatural aspect of his life is a matter of religious faith.
Dr. Bart Denton Ehrman is a good reference for that if you want more details.

Nobody else understands
by ElderBerry inif you once were fully pimi and truly believed jw doctrine to the core like i once did, when you come to the reality that it is not the truth at all it can be extremely devastating.. i think only other ex jws could ever understand.
i wasted my entire life i thought the real life was yet to come to wasted the best years knocking on doors.
now i’m so angry.. i can understand why so many top themselves when they realise it was all lies..

It's not a total loss.
Avoid the total loss thinking.

Albert Schroeder and Sputnik
by xelder inas i read the ray franz books a couple years ago, he mentioned several things that i had personal knowledge of.
this really gave a ring of truth to everything he wrote, even if there were some things that couldn't be verified.
one thing was the idea that some of the gb thought sputnik was a signicant event marking the last days.

Perhaps we are swimming in angels and demons in some kind of metaphysical soup that we do not understand.
The system is going medieval. The Watchtower is a product of the industrial revolution (see Rutherford's locomotive and Schroeder's Sputnik), and for some reason, it is the very prophet of the end of the world of the industrial era.
The industrial era is being dismantled for an era that can be considered neo-feudal.
So spoke the Oracle of the Lord!

Anyone else remember the Awake saying this?
by BottanicPepper ini may have put this in the wrong thread.
if so, i'm sorry.. my conundrum is this.... i am almost completely certain that an awake back in the 80's/90's mentioned a group of rock bands we shouldn't listen to and i seem to remember them actually naming guns and roses.. i can't find anything now, and i'm wondering if it's the mandela effect, or if it's another case of the cdrom versions of the awakes being doctored again.. does anyone else remember this?
or am i crazy?

Humans from the future. Humans from the future can be from other planets (extraterrestrial hypotheses) and they travel through several dimensions (interdimensional hypotheses). Something like the Dune universe, (artificially) evolved humans all over the place.

The Bizarre Free Will
by John_Mann intwo years before i left jw world i came to a strange conclusion about the jw cosmology and the free will doctrine.. basically i came to conclusion that satan is right about the universal sovereign issue.
and i came with that just only using jws premises, no outside apostasy.
i just told to my sister what she thought about it, and she said to me: dont tell anyone about this!.
