Ending Bible Study

i have been studying with jehovah's witnesses for approximately two years.

initially, i liked the studies and felt that i was growing closer to god.

however, as the studies progressed, they seemed to become increasingly negative and i did not like what i was being taught.

Maria, I like my other fellow posters are very happy that you saw the "light" about this organization; but one thing I would like to really suggest which would be very helpful to you which was no doubt helpful to others here on this forum and other similar forums re: WT: Please read this book=> "CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE" by Ray Franz.

Ray Franz was a former Governing Body member of the Jehovah's Witnesses who wrote about his experiences within the hub of this organization at World Headquarters many years ago. Seeing the inner workings of this caused him what was really going on there. I truly feel that if you check out this book (although you have decided to discontinue your "indoctrination sessions" with the JWs) will solidify your decision to not be converted in that "religion".

Also, I would like to suggest various YouTube videos to watch=> ExJW Critical Thinkers, Marcus Vaughn, JW Rebuttal, ChristianKatja, plus many others--a plethora of these to choose from, though all of these people can enlighten you re: the JWs. Good Luck and Congrats!

When you were an active JW, did you ever have dealings with a pyramid scheme?

i'm not sure why this memory popped up, and i was wondering if any others, when they were still active jw had dealings with a pyramid scheme involving other witnesses in the organization?

at the time it was 1993, and my husband and i were still newlyweds.

once in a while, we would attend a neighboring congregation because that was where he grew up, and some of his family was still attending there at the time.

Like I mentioned this a number of times before: The GB doesn't give a damn about the status (present and future) about single women in the Borg. They rather see them very sad, lonely and especially depressed, Stepfordly doing everything to make them, their helpers plus those they personally hold dear happy and comfortable (financially, that is!). In fact, IMPO, I bet those 8 old geezers are laughing all the way to the bank about how they are able to subliminally influence a nice amount of single women to be lifetime spinsters, while they themselves are able to marry multiple times while living the life of Riley!!

Trashy Watchtower Corporation Carts In Public Places, Can Cities Ban them?

they have a very big child abuse enabler international reputation in the courts can these things be a reason for banning these stupid ass carts that claims to have all the answers to mans hardest questions.. why should every library have to permit them to plant their lame ass carts close to the entrance.. i'm thinking that soon due to all the bad publicity surrounding the jehovah witness cult leaders that cart witnessing will come to be seen as a very big waste of time by all it's members that have become hall less thus missing a shit load of meeting and a beginning to start thinking for themselves.. i'm sure many jws hate this type of work even now, even though it's an easy way to get your time in and not be labeled inactive or keep the elders off your back.

have you noticed that a lot of carts don't have a jw near by?

i never see anybody at the carts where i live, i've even asked people nearby and nobody knew who put the cart there.

And they got also the utter gall to park their carts on college campuses--knowing full damn well that the GB hates higher education! For that reason also, they should be prohibited/banned from doing their "preaching work" on those premises. In fact, 911 should be called on them--and not on anyone who wants who goes up to them to ask Bible questions and won't accept just their Stepford-Robotic saying: "Go To JW.Org!"

Are the younger generation taking on roles in the Cong?

i notice that several of the congs i've been to seem to have a majority of the male roles performed by older men.

very few young men are wanting to be ms or elders etc.

it also seems like very few young people are being pioneers either.. would you agree with this?

very strange behavior by the attendants and elders after the duluth, ga, rc.

on the first link the attendants start to exit the arena, then line up and turn their backs on the street preachers.

Although unfortunately, that's true, Dubs, on the other hand, will call 911 or a security guard--if a person will ask them questions about their beliefs while they are doing cart "witnessing" and they can't answer any questions, but all they could reply is: "Go to JW.Org". Really frickin' pathetic!
