@zeb=> If one could find out where they're specifically located (and primarily since they made the mandate to all visitors to not take photos or footage of their condo-ish residences. . . . . . . .).

I wish I had not gone to the meeting last night
by stillin inthe first thing i saw when i went in was the two video screens having the watchtower singers chorus doing a number.
the sound wasn't up enough to make out the song, but the video was grotesque.
the singers were swaying to the music, all independent of each other, no discipline, actually sloppy-looking.

am i right for doing this?
by Akid48 inso im not in school yet but i was rethinking over somethings that happened from that school year.i know that one person that is a jw in my school.now we had gym together but he is a grade up from me when i would do something that didnt seem right and something we shouldnt do he gave me a mean look or he would just stop hanging out and walk a way so i stoped talking to him for my own good.
i just kinda feel bad for not talking to him but if i do something that seems bad in the jw eye i feel like he might tell the elders.. and i dont need that right now.....

Akid48=> Fully indoctrinated JDubs are snitchers and informants for the BORG. My advice to you is to stay away from that kid and don't talk to him about anything personal; he could use any info you say/comment on against you. IMHO, I feel that he is two-faced, trying to cause problems for you and see you in a world of hurt. Protect yourself regarding the above situation.

Do JW's ever really grow up ?
by Phizzy ini ask the above because of my personal experience.
as a born-in i was naive, socially inept and had never really thought deeply about anything.. i was also unable to accept arguments based upon reason and facts.. just like a child.. it was only after freeing myself from the mind-control of the jw cult that i educated myself and matured as a person to being (almost) an adult.. jw's attitudes and their inability to debate in any meaningful way, (they could start by actually listening),means they have not grown up..

@William Penwell=> I agree wholeheartedly with the final comment from your latest post:
Note: This is also why the Dubs are prime victims of every quick rich, MLM pyramid schemes that are around.
A few years ago, I have dealt with a number of Dubs who were heavily involved in a number of network marketing ventures. The companies which these R&Fs represented used the methods of recruitment ("acquisitions") and meetings ("mini conferences") from the Dubs who became big money-makers in their organization [methods such as, handing out flyers and placing them under doors of many households; phone calls to acquaintances and anonymous persons, etc]. These Dubs were so heavily involved in the above to the extent that any Dubs or non-Dubs who did not reach certain achievement levels were shunned/ostracized as well--categorized as "liabilities" and "dead weights"! After hearing from a couple of friends about this situation, I decided not to get fully involved in these schemes and have rejected offers from anyone who want me to be their "downline" in their sales organizations.

2017 Convention Recording: JWs Applaud 10yo Girl For Shunning Her Own Sister
by pale.emperor inthis poor girl was baptized at 9yo.
.
she isnt old enough to buy alcohol, to vote, to decide her own medical treatment, to buy a pet, to travel alone... yet she was deemed old enough to dedicate her life to a religion that will cut her off from her family if she ever leaves.. here she is applauded for shunning her own sister who tried to keep in contact with her after waking up.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yzgnfda8ki.

@steve2=> The background noise you hear could be, in my opinion, because of two (2) reasons:
(1) Some of the R&F commenting about the experience demonstrated (possibly for some in shock and for others in agreement with this young girl's decision); and
(2) Some conversations plus milling/walking around from the R&F who are PIMO (Physical In-Mentally Out) at the convention. These folks are only in attendance due to wanting to keep ongoing contact with their friends and family who are PIMI (Physically In-Mentally In) and fully indoctrinated.
Either way, the situation regarding this young child and the R&F at the RC is really precariously sad.

The GB is really no different than the other churches re: christian song videos which resemble the Coca-Cola Bottling Company's 1971 "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing" commercials. Since seeing this, it shows that this religion is a corporation/business, still influencing its members to move products for the hierarchy's profits!

Akid48=> I'm sorry regarding what you have to endure as a young person with parents in the BORG. (And you don't have to apologize for the length of your posting--If you look at many/various postings--including mine--they are very lengthy, and with/for good reasons.)
When it came to learning to play a musical instrument in middle school and high school, my sister, one of my closest cousins and myself had to sneak and take after-school classes because our programs/schedules did not originally accommodate this provision for us. Thank goodness the music teacher we had was very generous, in addition to the fact he said he had a distant cousin who was a JDub. He spoke as if he understood about the issue that the BORG had concerning extracurricular activities.
Now, I'm not trying to encourage you to become rebellious regarding your participation in the school band, but if it gets to the extent whereby you are not able to do so, I would encourage you to see if you can privately make an arrangement with your music teacher (or the band's faculty advisor) to allow you to continue practicing the tuba for a couple days after school. This is so that you will not lose your footing skill-wise with the instrument. Hopefully your instructor is an agreeable person, like mine back in the day was.
Furthermore, have you ever thought about learning an instrument of a small caliber, such as the guitar, violin, recorder (small flute), etc.? The reason why I'm asking is because I find, from my personal experience*, that these can be easily transported when you want to obtain lessons and still be able to enjoy playing music with these at your personal leisure. [*I was able to learn to play the piccolo and recorder, when I saw that it was difficult to play both the drums and flute during my senior year in high school. Now, that I am an older adult, working a lucrative full-time job, I was able to purchase these instruments and play them for my own personal enjoyment--and with no one from the BORG to tell we what to do!]
So, Akid48, give the above some thought. I would hate to see and hear that you have given up your dreams and desires because your parents are in actuality listening to a group of men who don't want anyone to enjoy LIFE!

JWs biggest problem is not doctrinal issues
by Chook init's biggest problems are associated with its lack of genuine love and concern for the rank& file.
the average person doesn't need a food critic to tell them their hamburger is shit, in the same manner the average person can discern kindness and love.
gbs fake love and concern is evident in the way head office deals with victims of sexual abuse by jw clergy.

@LongHairGirl=> I agree with your comment also; you're always on point.
Furthermore, I have noticed the very unfriendly/unaccommodating attitudes of special convention speakers from WHQ (no doubt Helpers) towards the R&F. When some of the R&F came over to congratulate and introduce themselves to them and their wives, these brothers and sisters were turned away. One speaker remarked that he was"really busy right now; will have to speak to you perhaps another time" and the like. These speakers acted as if the R&F was some sort of "botherment"/problem for any of the brothers and sisters to speak to them--and it's not like anyone was going to ask for their autograph or a selfie!. I've heard of famous celebrities at least giving some of their time to say hello to fans when he/she is traveling on a public street!
So, this is reason why fully indoctrinated/PIMI JWs are the way they are: They are fully following the way the GB and their Helpers act and not the way Jesus Christ acted when he was here on earth!

Also everyone, I'd like to add the YouTube videos of Marcus Vaughn (a.k.a. Wallkill Bethelite). What he endured and experienced while at Bethel is really astounding, showing what the GB really thinks about Jdubs in general, including those who give all of their energy and time to the BORG:

Very true and very sad. Even if a Jdub misses one (1) meeting--no matter what the circumstances are (i.e., family situations, secular employment, someone's death/passing, extreme fatigue, etc.)--some of the R&F, especially those with "privileges" will shun/ostracize he or she who had to skip a meeting.
This happened to me back in the day 30 years ago. I, with a couple of other sisters from another congregation, bumped into a Bethelite couple from the congregation I was associated at the time, at a well-known department store during a weekend. After I greeted them and was about to introduce them to my friends, they both showed a look of horror and ran from us (like a scene from a "Casper, The Friendly Ghost" cartoon!). The next week while out in field service I mentioned the above incident to a pioneer brother. He mentioned that this couple "believes in speaking only to the friends who never miss meetings, since they are there at 99.5% of the meetings!". I couldn't believe what I was hearing; they couldn't even wave at me--because I missed one (1) meeting!
