In the US, all congregations are invited, not just English speaking ones. However, the publishers that attend must be able to read and write English To qualify. That means the faithful Witness that refused a blood transfusion and as a result had to have both arms amputated is barred from attending since he cannot write.

What is happening in Mexico?
by ILoveTTATT ini have heard that a lot of the english congregations in mexico are shutting down... they are condensing 5 congregations into one, or in some areas even disbanding the only english congregation.
jw's who have been living in mexico for many years and probably were sheltered by being in the english congregations will now have to move to spanish congregations.... .

The main problem is that many of these English congregations in Mexico don't need to exist in the first place. Some of them may have 50 people attending, and every single one of them speaks Spanish fluently. Or the only ones that don't shipped themselves in to 'serve where the need is great.' Problem is, there are practically zero native English speakers in their territory. Outside of a few retirement spots and resort areas, there are very few native English speakers in Mexico.
Just about all of these congregations exist due to an artificial 'need' that a few local witnesses (or transplants) have dreamed up.

A "New" Revelation Grand Climax at Hand book might be released for Book/Bible Study?
by booker-t ina few elders i know said they hoped the wts would release a "new" revelation book to be studied during 2014. they said the jws need to be spiritually encourage at the "closeness" of the end and studying a "new" revelation book for 2014 might help shape up the flock of inactive, faders, disfellowship/disassociated jws to coming back.
posters what do you think a new rev book for 2014..

It's already been announced in the OKM that the "Draw Close to Jehovah" book will be studied at the midweek meeting in 2014. Those elders need to start reading their borg memos and quit watching porn...

New Arrangement: All Can Listen In to Bethel Annual Meeting
by Red Piller ina letter read at our meeting.. .

) to the annual meeting.

OP is correct. Although the original letter DID say that tickets were going to be required to attend this year's annual meeting at the local AH or KH, a revised letter came out this week saying that the GB changed their mind and that tickets will no longer be required. So I guess any of us could crash the meeting and see what the big deal is.
Honestly, I think that it's going to be just as underwhelming as all the other 'special' events they hold, although it may prove to be a useful cure for someone with insomnia.

Could The Watchtower and Awake Collapse?
by metatron inthis is not a prophesy, folks, but rather a train of thought to pursue about the organization, especially in light of its recent legal problems.. could the magazines collapse?
the watchtower is published in 188 languages?
and the awake a rather huge number as well?.

Why haven't they dropped the Awake already? It could be easily done with the excuse that they need to focus on the Watchtower magazine now that it is printed in various versions. But they didn't drop it when they chose to print the Watchtower monthly instead of fortnightly. It is interesting to speculate as to why they didn't
One reason may be that we know how very proud they can be and to drop the Awake would be a bit of an embarassment. It is also a good way of using some of their good bethel writers who aren't of the anointed and can be allocated airy fairy topics without too much control.
The other problem that dropping it would mean they have to concentrate more of their efforts on the actual 'meaty' stuff and as they are not very imaginative these days it is a hard task for them. They couldn't even produce a substantive book this year.
If they drop a magazine, I believe it will be the public Watchtower. The 'downsizing' would be too psychologically depressing to completely shut down the Awake magazine, which has been printed essentially since 1919. They would just offer the dumbed-down Awake with a smattering of Bible articles with a majority of articles about natural disasters, Swiss cheese, and maybe a Young People Ask article here and there. The Watchtower would become a members-only magazine. It seems kind of silly to have two 'editions' of the Watchtower for two completely different audiences, the more I think about it.

I think there's a Kingdom Hall in Kennett, Missouri, that was built in the 1940's and has only been recently renovated.

GB becoming more angry!
by truthseeker1969 inflipping through the wt and other artices it strikes me how angry the governing body is becoming and how they are using insulting words to describe anyone who "rocks the boat".. words such as diseased and vindictive are common place now and so petty.. it seems to me that these men may be allowing personal feelings to overcome their spiritual role that they are supposed to live by.. i have been out of the truth for 17 years and it is clear to me that they have lost the plot.. look at the generation flip flop.
why not just say, "brothers, we have no clue and therfore no clue about anything that has been taught".
assuming the role of jesus on earth is something no one should do as one look at corinthians clearly states that "gifts of prophesying would be done away with" in other words god said i will tell you not you me.. anyone else feel that the gb is angry?.

Just for fun, ask someone to name the theme of the last 4 Sunday talks given. Or ask them to summarize the previous chapter in the Congregation "Bible Study". Easily 98% will not be able to do it - yet the meetings are supposed to be so utterly "vital".
In my congregation, they won't even know the theme of any of the last 4 Sunday talks -- and that's two hours after the meeting. And I mean that!

Wachtower says 97% of teens masturbate....is it realistic that 100% Witness teens don't?
by Witness 007 in"young people ask" book admits 97% of youths masturbate...to put it into perspective, it's like saying 97% of the worlds population own a phone or a t.v!!
so is it realistic to believe these witnesses going thru puberty and teenage years won't on penalty of death?.
i always thought, if nearly 100% of teens do it isn't it normal?.

I sure hope to high hell they don't 'consider' this new YPA book at the Theocratic Misery School. Because the last time they did that back in the early 90's, we had to sit through four separate masturbation student talks on four separate weeks.
At least I didn't get that talk assigned to me. The ones who did get that 'privilege' wisely didn't show for their talk, leaving some schlub to be duped into volunteering for it. They got to choke their way (no pun intended) through five minutes of talking about the evils of masturbation.

True, but none of these three earthquakes in Illinois ('68, '87, and '08) were on the New Madrid fault. These were actually in the Wabash Valley fault zone, which is well to the north.

I don't remember it, but my parents do. I think that was the one centered around McLeansboro. More recently, I actually DO remember the ones in 1987 and 2008. Very minor earthquakes, really, but when you live in Illinois/Indiana, you aren't really used to those things. And the elders used the earthquake ad nauseum in talk illustrations for about two weeks following the event.
