  LOU REED - r.i.p. (a special memory)

  i've always loved lou's music.... hearing about his death this am makes me remember when my little family was on the run.

  i was a 'visible' elder in my community, so when we got 'free' mentally, we took a choice available to us that, sadly, some don't have.

  we disappeared...just relocated to another town.. listening to 'a perfect day' by lou reed reminds me of those first few months...walking through one of the big city parks on cold sundays...both of us beaten and bruised and still in shock.

  i've always loved Lou's music...
  hearing about his death this AM makes me remember when my little family was on the run. i was a 'visible' elder in my community, so when we got 'free' mentally, we took a choice available to us that, sadly, some don't have. we disappeared...just relocated to another town.
  listening to 'A Perfect Day' by Lou Reed reminds me of those first few months...walking through one of the big city parks on cold Sundays...both of us beaten and bruised and still in shock. we'd lost all of our friends, almost all of our family (who kind of knew we were 'spiritually sick'. heh..). we were mentally, physically, and emotionally drained, but free.
  incognito on a sunday afternoon. in a new place where no one knew us. where we could just be 'us', and it wasn't against anyones 'rules'.
  living like refugees.
  but some of those days walking through the city on Sunday mornings...i remember telling her that, you know...i could die right there with her and it somehow felt 'full' and right.

  im more empatheitc to that poor soul who's been juggling and walking the 'fader' tightrope...watching his back and trying to maintain some manner of sanity in exiting this cult, cuddenly faced with terror...rapid heart beating, head swimming with what-ifs, the nervous nausea growing in them as they realize they've potentially been outed oby a group of folks that they put a certain amount of trust in (perhaps naively).
  
  let's talk about that, Cedars.
  i could give a damn about some stupid thread on a forum board being locked or unlocked.
  i also don't get into this, 'let's forget everything and just all get along...' thing.
  in some cases, things need to be brought to a head.

  do you trust the bible, and it's scientific accuracy on creation for example.. do you believe it still holds moral values, expressed in the perfect example of it's god?.

  do you believe in it's prophesies?.

  then let me invite you to doctor holymann's hospital.. you can trust him with your child's or your own surgery and medicine.. he has ignored all the nonsense of modern medical science, and still operates on the knowledge he has from 2,000 years ago.. .

  a customer on my route with whom i have had some lively debates was his number 1 complaint is that "the witnesses have so many rules".

  last month i agreed with on this issue.

  he asked why the change, i told him that i have been doing some soul searching.

  Part 3: My mother continues to try to ruin me

  i am not sure if anyone cares, but the drama with my mother and me leaving the org continues.. apparently after todays craptower she goes on a spastic rant that because of my decision i am slowly killing her and my father.

  the funny thing is i do not feel bad over this... i can't.. i have children and a wife of my own that i need to be happy for.

  i love them - but as they get older and closer to death i realize that a new season is coming and imust care for my family the best way i can... the same way they thought they were doing.

  tortured by this talk where they are attempting to legitimize the division/ separation of family.. "sadly friends some will refuse to have courage in this matter.is it not in our best interests to abide the arrangements of the christian congregation as set by jehovah?

  accept the torture stake involved in confessing union with christ.

  then they cite the example of a brother who is thankful to his wife for persisting in preaching to him.. now they are talking about disfellowshipping, lay serious guilt trip .the brother talking about his baby sister getting disfellowshipped, how his father cried for the first time.

  when we were kids, and part bored/part excited that the meeting was finally over, we used to change the lyrics and sing, 'hey there all you hershey barrrs!'....

  i got in real trouble one time for that.

  my old man confiscated all of my shogun warriors and comic books (the ones he could find)....

  Im SOOOO tired...

  of all of these different gods...and the idea that i've got to 'respect' your beliefs just because you 'feel' them.. i wish all of these gods would all go to some mysterious island in the bermuda triange, and fight it out...tournament style...until just one of them is standing.. then, he/she/it can bring it's ass back here and i can just ignore that one..
