Would/Do you wear a Cross around your neck ??
by Prisca inafter all that we had drummed into us about not the cross, and particularly about not venerating the symbol itself, i have been wondering about this issue.. so, what are your views about wearing a cross around your neck ?
is it just a fashion accessory, or does it mean something to you ?.

I wear a Cross with a Star of David in the middle of it. I designed it myself.
The cross I wear is very personal to me, because it my creation.
When I wear my cross it serves as a reminder of the love Jesus did for me.

I don't think this goes to far. Personally, it does not go far enough.
I work in a industry where on a daily basis, I have to answer several phone calls because of Indentity theft. Many of these people cry. They are innocent victims who lives are ruined in an instant. Theri level of fustration is very high. The calls just keep pouring in daily.
We are not talking about the losses to our company, retailers, credit card companies. The cost is pased on to the consumer in the price of products.
Very seldom these hacker of ID theft get caught. The damage they do is incredable.
In 1995, someone got a hold of my information. It was harder to prove who I was, not whom I was not.
How bad did it get? At the time I was on disablity. I had a tracomy in my throat.
The person gave me a job as a nurse making 30,000 a year. I never went to nursing school or had a license to practice nursing.
Dept of welfare sent me notices I was commiting welfare fraud. I was not but they did not believe me and try to have me arrested.
I went to the place where I was suppose to be employed. With a trachomy, he said, "I could never be employed at his facility having a tracmomy. I was not on his data base being employed and contacted welfare for me.
What a nightmare. My credt was almost ruined. No one would take my check etc.
Anyone who is a victim of ID fraud thinks this will not go far enough to punish these criminals.

who now though would volunteer to work that territory.
of course, the fight was for a higher issue that protects anonimous callers in general, but i couldn't help commenting on what the "air" in the village of stratton must be like today!

You have to undestand many also stood in as "Freinds of the court" in this case. Many Christian organizations also support the Watchtower's cause.
When you write to the town mayor and give them all the ammo on thier beliefs and get no reply, you wonder why? They can see you are disgrunteld with the church. That was not their aim or can be used by the Supreme Court as an arguement.
I wonder if the Supreme Court saw Dateline and the current policies on defending pedophile at thier door steps?
If JWS getting s free permit restricts thier freedom to go door to door, should they also be required to tell me if the people canvassasing are convicted child molesters, rapist murders or pedophiles? Oh, by doning that you violate thier right to privacy!

YOu must understand many religion filed in as "Friend of the Court" I know the ACLJ supported the Watcthower a pro-conservative Christian Law group who has a daily radio show on Chrsitian Radio. Many of Christian groups also saw it as a violation. So the Watchtower got more support in different place than.
I think I am going to ask the Supreme Court a question though. If Jehovah's Witness are protected by free speaach under our Consitution, does the law also require them to informed me if a JW is convicted child molestor, rapist murder, etc? I guess disclosing those facts will also violate the perps right to privatcy while scoping for thier next victim.

by comforter injehovah's witnesses proclaim the good news of the kingdom under the power of god's holy spirit.
jesus commanded his followers to preach in the most distant parts of the earth and promised them that the spirit of god would guide them in this life-saving work (acts 1:8).. without the spirit of god, one cannot continue preaching about jesus and god's kingdom (matthew 24:14).
one surely will not have god's spirit if one preaches a negative message (against jehovah's servants) from door to door.

I just think you like riling people up with your post and them play mind games with them. Maybe if you try to answer something from Scripture it might challenge you a bit?
