I'm sorry, but I have to say this re Kim Kardashian (fluff thread, sort of)...
by AGuest inbut i do so to be fair (may you all have peace!):.
if she were my daughter, and kris humphries said to her what he said to ms. kim, when she voiced her concerns (again) about not wanting to move to minnesota (which she did before getting married and he "pretended" to accept), i might tell her he's the wrong guy/man, too.
no, i don't believe in divorce "just because,"... and don't know that i would tell my daughter to divorce him (she made her bed, so to say), but.... what did he say?

NewChapter...I love your thoughts, talk about hitting the hammer on the head. I feel OWS will only grow. After all that's what it has been doing. They even sat out the storm in NY and that was a COLD one.

If I hear one more person say...
by iamwhoiam in"even if we don't agree with new light, we should ask ourselves, where else would we go?
without this organization, we would never have learned the basic bible truths we have today.".
this was stated twice in commenting and once by our conductor during our wt study yesterday.

Confused...
by raxxxx in.
hiya and... i do not really know where to begin... currently a jw... slightly starting to fade... got a girlfriend baptised... i am baptised also... my head is a mess... i do not know what to believe anymore... never really fully trusted elders as it comes to 'leading the flock'... got burned a few times with their ... decisions etc.
read a few articles in here about their alleged false beliefs... do not really know what to do... wondered if any of you felt like that at any point... when something that you trusted and followed most of your life... does not seem to be what you thought it was... .

While I was DF I researched but didnt trust what other websites posted because I was still loyal to an org. that was not loyal to me. Thats what cults/high control groups can do to you. Anyway, what I read from wikipedia opened my eyes as they do not take sides, just present the facts. Check out, "History of Jehovah's Witnesses" from wikipedia.

Answer: How Wrinkly Old People Can Make Love (And Not Be Grossed Out)
by metatron init suddenly hit me, as i glanced down at a nice lady of many decades.................damn!
i'm standing so close to her that she has fallen out of my depth of focus .............and she looks many years younger because, like a camera pointed at doris day, with vaseline on the lens, i can't see wrinkles, scars, crowsfeet or much else beyond a smiling, angelic appearance.
hey, this isn't too bad!.

How many double agents are there?
by logical1 inhow many are there on this board that are also still in the society, especially acting in a position of leadership?
i think it's pretty funny they always talked about how "jehovah would root out the wickedness" yet theres people on here getting invites to "zone visits" that many other blind and faithful people weren't invited to.. .
if any of you are on your way out and have the ability to give a talk before you go, you should cratifly morph a talk into discussion about the origins of the society, by the time its obvious what you're doing you will have given 100-150 people seeds of doubt before they yank you off the stage, and the fact that they would be physically escorting you off the stage when you were simply talking about the "founder" of the society should be alarming and suspicious enough to those watching.. .

The only way to get deprogramed in my opinion is to laeve completely. Even then it takes a time to undo the life time of programming. Maybe if one got reinstated after all this could one be a double agent.

When I was still a JW I remember my feelings of confusion caused by the CO visit. I just found them so discourging. I knew what he was going to say. And I was not expecting commendation. Everybody would scramble into action before he even arrived. Hall would be cleaned, arrangements for who and how the CO and his wife would be recieved/entertained. FS cards would be reviewed. And through it all I found it so discouraging. I even asked an elder why can't the congregation and publishers be commended. It was supposed to be a privledge just to get a visit and opportunity to grow spiritually, benefit from the CO's experience and wisedom. Yet I couldnt wait for the week to be over. Your thoughts on CO visits, please.

Bethel's Bossert Hotel
by ShirleyW injust got a google alert regarding the bossert that was printed in the new york times, hope somebody hear knows how to do the cut and paste for that.. was it a well known fact that the bossert is free for all jdubs visiting the nyc area or does the article have it wrong, i've always been aware of the bossert but thought it was part of the residential buildings for the bethelites.. .

I lived in the Bossert in 1985/86. It was still under renovation and has people living there who where not JW's. As a result it was not full of rules and I loved it! My friends and I played frisbee in the hallways, something you could never do in the other residences. the rules at bethel are so extensive, That is why I loved the Bossert so much!
