  i remember a young one who was about 7 or 8 yrs old at the time, was sat in front of me on the old plastic chairs. he asked to go to the toilet but his dad told him to wait. he asked again "i need to go dad" ... 'you can hold it till the song!'

  i swear when he let it go that kid hovered.

  brought the house down with laughter and got a crack off his dad. poor kid

  Faith vs Faiths - the Bible vs the WBTS

  a search of the wt library 2010 for the word "faiths" produces 211 hits.. yet the bible always refers to "faith" in the singular.. articles such as "only one right religion" (w55 2/15 pp.

  112-116) also reveal that the wbts believes that "faith" and "religion" (beliefs and practices) are the same thing.. why then is "religion" not a fruit of the holy spirit?.

  as others have observed "belief" emanates from man, whereas "faith" emanates from god.. a person does not receive the gift of "faith" from the holy spirit by choosing to follow the ruling religious clergy class of a particular denomination.. nor does faith result from doctrinal dissection and interpretations (such as on hellfire, trinity, immortality of the soul, and fds).. nor does faith result from rule-making and rule-keeping (apostate legalism according to ray franz).

  The Circuit Overseer's Visit on MP3

  my dad came up to me the other day and handed me the mp3 of the recent visit to my old congregation.

  we both decided we would listen to it and discuss it together, despite the fact that neither of us have been to the meeting in over 18 months.. it was nice to hear all those old voices again but it was also a little bit sad.

  as regards the talks, they were pretty much the standard i expected them to be.

  its funny, i've now heard 3 different CO's give this outline, its the first talk of the week.

  the first was our own CO and it was 'Give us your money'

  the second CO was the same.

  the third CO made it a completely different talk from the others, much more balanced and loving. he made a point of saying how unusual it was to have this outline from the GB instead of one that builds zeal for the ministry. this was about a month ago. he was called bro hillton

  the writers of the New Testament Books are no longer of the FDS? But the writers of the Finished Mystery were of the FDS.

  What about Apostle Paul? Timothy? Barnabas? Agabus? - (Agabus prophecy saved alot of Christians from famine) But he wasn't part of the FDS? Rutherford had a mansion constructed to house the 'Ancient Worthies' upon their Earthly resurection called Beth Sarim, But HE was part of the FDS

  I still think it is just a Parable and not a Prophecy, but for them to hold to the FDS as being a prophetic it doesn't really give much confidence in being the GB post 1919, when the evidence overwhelmingly shows that everything is wrong in their Prophetic Predictions.

  there has been some interest recently about the moyle case, and how it may have set a precident in what became the society's disfellowshipping policy.

  in july 1939, the chief legal counsel of the watchtower bible & tract society, olin r. moyle, resigned from his position in a protest over conditions at bethel and rutherford's mistreatment of workers.

  he did not want to continue living under those conditions and he felt he could effect positive change for his brothers by taking such a stand.

  CO Visit this week....

  so, we are meeting our new co this week... i wonder if he'll be as glory hungry as the last one and the one before him and the one... well you can get the idea.

  too bad we didn't volunteer to feed him .

  that makes me wonder...why do they receive so much glory and attention as if they were some type of celebrity?

  the new CO was round the other week. at the tues night meeting his first talk was nothing more than give us your money... the whole thing give give give. even mentioned how some kids decided in their family worship to give money from their savings towards the new print presses. hey why not Give of your time to the rbc? they have outlines from hq for the week.
