Dagney, Of course I remember "rooming" MY parents stayed in a non JW home in '58 in Flushing NY. My dad was asst. caffeteria servant at the polo grounds. He had to arrive 2 weeks before the DC to prepare to serve meals to over 110,000. The DC lasted 8 days then he had to work nearly a week afterwards to dismantle etc. We we in a strangers home for nearly a month! That was the LAST time he went through rooming!To Designs,, DNCall, and BreakfastOC, we were all at Pasedena in 63! Maybe we had lunch together. I was a nerdy looking girl with coke-bottle glasses. LOL We'll have to meet up sometime.

Were your parents as die hard as mine? They would only bring water and seat cushions. One little blanket was NOT enough! After I was married I went to Candlestick once. (I was only 17) This time I was prepared. Hot chocolate, sleeping bags, umbrellas, snacks, gloves, we had fun when my ex's Jack Witness friend shared his hot buttered rum with us. (wasn't that naughty?)

What year do you mean? Who gave it? How do you know it was 25min? Most prayers aren't timed but they seem to go on for hours at the end of assemblys. The first DC I remember was NYC 1958 (I was a tot) after a gruelling 8 DAYS F Franz (I think) gave the prayer that would not end. When he was done there wasn't a kid who wasn't crying or hadn't been slapped for fidgeting. BTW, I was at Doger stadium in 1969. As I recall Pasadena 1963 was worse heat wise. My aunt and scores of others fainted.

Does the society assign circuit overseers based on their personalities?

we get a real good down to earth guy who is easy to work with and we get used to his way.
of doing things and then 3 years later we get a self righteous abusive a$$hole that thinks he is above all.

Our circuit had abusive a$$h***s for 20 yrs who were actually cowards. Now that we've left we heard the the new one is wonderful and kind but has made heads roll in the elder body. Go figure So nice not to give a rats behind WHAT they do!
