once again in a wt study article entitled " imitate jesus' example of watchfulness " the wt society tries to control jw members through fear mongering, confusing them by inconsistent and contradictory wording, and emphasizing devotion to wt society " sacred service " over devotion to family and friends.. we all know the wt society has always said that " nobody knows the day and hour " of the alleged armageddon - yet out of the same mouth the wt society claims to know the " day " of the end close enough to have duped people with 1975 and put fear into jw's that the " end " is " imminent" .

notice these quotes from paragraph 4 in this article.

it states, " in brief, jesus wants us to remain watchful because of what we know and what we do not know.

Hi Flipper, Sooo nice to finally get to talkwith you and your lovely wife. I haven't read the article you quoted from but It's obvious nothing written in the WT has improved since I quit reading them. The heinous story about Selma and her jackass husband was pretty much the last one I've read. completely agree with all the comments written so far.

Yeah, whatever you do, don't listen to family and friends who encourage you to look after your health. The sooner you drop dead the sooner we(WT$) will inherate your estate. Besides the end is so close, you don't have to worry about preparing for old age- Oh you already ARE old? We already took the last of your money and wont give it back? Well just go on welfare and rot in the county hospital. Problem solved.

i'm a 40 year old female with a family knee deep in the jw religion.

i left when i was 18 and never looked back, but the majority of my family is still in.

I'm very sorry for the terrible losses and pain you and your family have suffered. So many here (including myself) can relate to the hurtful practices of the WT$ and the brutal effect these have on so many. Who ever heard of a group not letting someone politely disagree or leave???

alright.....i've had some alcohol.....and i'm not drunk..but slightly buzzed... and i've caved into my guilty secret... i hate to say it.....i really do, adn most of you wont understand this....but.......i just want to say......cradle of filth is a great awesome band.

it's like scream-o, death, gothic metalness that pieces and connects so much for me.

i havn't heard them since 2006, but.....man....it's my guilty secret...... .

Hi Snoozy, Actually I was taking poetic licence. I was meaning to convey that I detest sexual exploitation of children and teens, so much so that I wouldn't mind taking a nutcracker to the testicles of the abuser. Not for the purposes of prevention but to inflict the pain and suffering I think pervs deserve. I think it might not take too many hard squeezes before he had. an attitude adjustment.

howdy all.

just a small commentary for those so inclined to read on what i think is a very important factor to successfully leaving jw's and moving on with your life.. it is understandable to leave at a bad/low point in your life.

jehovahs witnesses are a cult, and whether they force you out, or you choose to leave on your own, its still on their terms.

I couldn't agree more with your positive message or the responses (including my trick knee). New ones like myself are helped to reason and vent here as the scales and tears trickel down from our eyes. However, I can't imaginine waisting the rest of my life wallowing in blame and couldda, wouldda, shouldda. Living well is definately the best revenge. I, too, have been disappointed at the mean-spirited exchanges of late. What are we 15??? I know high school girls with more maturity. Just MHO though.

Hi Poopsie, This guy has always been a real weasel. He is a windbag who loves the sound of his own voice. He likes to sound "Theocratic"especially in front of an audience. A few months before at the KH ( when we were still active), he walked up to hubby who was visiting with several elders after the meeting. He says breathlessly, Oh ***, I've missed you at the meetings. I have been WORRIED SICK about you!" Hubby (ex elder at this time) replies, "REALLY?? That's funny, I have NEVER EVER received a card, phone call, or even an E-mail from you. You couldn't have been too worried." The PO LOLed!!! And so did I

Just another reason why disfellowshipping is such a stupid practice. I would not like it if my husband preferred porn to looking at me. OTOH, A couple might enjoywatching it together. Filming underage kids is just plain child abuse. But an older woman/man might enjoy posing for the camera if the money was good. Her/his perogative IMO. ( 0f course, she/he should consider the effect this would have on the family and future employment) Let God judge the adults and PAINFULLY NEUTER the bastards who exploit children.

Made me LOL because a similar thing was actually said to hubby and me. We were in the nursury dept. at Home Depot buying bareroot fruit trees when a pious 2 faced elder from our hall spotted us. He rushed over with his wife following behind. After an insincere "Hi we REALLY miss you at the KH." He looks at his wife and says,"I don't want to plant fruit trees because I know we would NEVER harvest any fruit since the end is SOOOO close." His wife shot me a visible eye roll and I returned it and said, "You could be right. But if not, I'm going to really enjoy my home grown cherries,apricots,plums,peaches, and apples.

That was FOUR years ago. The fruit is delicious! I've thought about leaving some on his doorstep with a note. hahahaha

I love the TV show Sons Of Anarchy. The main characters are so much like my ex husband, his girlfriend, his 2ond wife and their friends it's scary. It's like looking at a train wreck. Probably shouldn't but I can't help myself!

found out that the land by itself was bought for cash at the tune of $1,250,000.00 - land size is approx 600 feet by 1000 feet - in the desert, small town between two major cities.
