Jake, i feel your pain. Since hubby and I are suffering similar issues I can offer more sympathy than advice. You have friends here that "get it".

my wife finished her degree and is now working at a hospital, (as a janitor cleaning windows), lol.

XBEHERE, we had that same family in one cong I was in. The Elder hubby met a woman on the internet and sold the wifes wedding ring to raise the money to meet up with her . Elder divorced wife then married internet babe. Elder gets DFed then RIed, former wife DAed, later changed her mind and got RIed. (I can't make this shi# up!). Kids totally screwed up. (big surprise!)

My little guy asked me why I don't go to the meetings
by SnailsPace2 ini just wanted to share a cute story about my 6 year old.
he has been asking me why i haven't been going to the meetings recently.
i couldn't avoid it any longer so i sat down with him and told him that mommy has learned some things from the bible that is different from what the meetings teach.

That is quite a bright response for a 6yo! The in-laws may not like what you are saying to your son but he is YOUR son not theirs-right?

My brother died yesterday
by satinka in"albert" was 55 years old, and the fifth-born of seven children.
i am the second oldest and babysat him often while he was growing up --- and while i was still at home.. yesterday, albert was out taking his usual morning stroll around his small town, when he collapsed on the sidewalk.
the doctors said it was a heart attack.

Satinka, you have my deepest sympathy. I hope you can take comfort that you had such a nice relationship and memories. I hope your family will be as kind to you as your brother was.

People who point out a small infraction in your child whose children are going apesh$!, Sister who looks like a nun, sister who looks like a hooker, sister who needs electrolisis, People who need deodrant, moochers always begging for discounts and freebies, multi-level-marketers, health-nuts, kooks.

Old"confirmed batchlors", Menopausal man haters too ugly from the inside to snag a husband, Sisters on prozac (nearly all), sisters with Fibromyalga (nearly all) sisters with eating disorders, morbidly obese, people who eat garlic before the meeting and talk into your nose, elderetts who decide "the concience of the congregation".

Christmas - love it or leave it?
by Xanthippe ini am just watching my neighbours across the road putting up christmas lights while their children run around bursting with excitement.
i am feeling all christmassy now.

As a faders Hubby and I must keep Christmas to ourselves. (DFing is not an option at the moment.) Frankly, I envy all of you who are free to enjoy any or all aspects of the Holliday. I couldn't care less about the religious part but I REALLY want to decorate my yard to the hilt! I want a huge tree not only to see how beautiful I can make it but for the sheer experience I have missed by being a born in. It is frustrating to be mentally free of Watchtower bonds yet not free to express myself. You people are the only ones who understand. Thanks for listening.

Ladies, How Big Is Your Diamond Engagement Ring?
by minimus ini notice a trend that suggests that many ladies either have a one carat or bigger diamond ring or much smaller if any.. do you have a diamond ring and if you do, what size carat is it?

My parents married in the 40's and were both second gen JWs and pious-sneerng. Mom go ta plain gold band later after some guy hit on her bc she wasn't wearing a wedding ring. 10 years later, my dad inherited a lot of money, became a sucessful businessman, took my mom to Europe and bought her a 1carrat+ wedding ring. After he died she remarried and had the diamond reset into a new wedding ring. After her second husband died she wore it until I was about to remarry. She gave me her ring and I had the diamond reset into an antique ring. The jewler botched the job so hubby and I picked out a new setting and put the diamond in it. When my daughter marries I will probably give it to her so this diamond has been in at least 4 wedding rings. How's that for recycling??!!

Confusedandalone, every time I read your posts I feel a warm smile cross my face. You have been to the mountaintop of the WTBT$ and also experienced the the worst cult treatment. Your grace and humor are charming and you are also wise beyond your years. If and when you leave JWN it will be a loss to this community! Still, I completely understand the wisdom in simply leaving the religion and all its poison behind. You and your precious family are going to have a wonderful life ahead!!! (I wish I were free to put up Christmas decorations)
