Its very well explained by Steven Hassen. Have you read any of his books? The explaination is that the WBT$ uses the B.I.T.E. Method. I urge you to investigate what it is and why it is so effective.

I don't understand the psyche of JW
by bobld inthe majority have good jobs, drive newer vehicles, have nice homes,go on vacations.all in all they have the smarts.. however, rwhen it comes to their religion, they are dummer than a sack of hammers.they drive around in circles to get two hours of service time.they can't differentiate what the fds/gb say is from jehovah god, when in reality it is the stuff that comes out of a horses ass.what the horse eats(as it were food at the proper time from the gb) comes out of the horse as manure(shit sounds better) as a loving provision from jehovah.. .

Mental Disorders among JW's
by Blackfalcon98 inhi everyone, im begining to notice patterns of mental issues in the congregations and among the witnesses as a group.
do you think this is a trend in the entire world or is it exagerated in this organization?.

frankiespeakin, thanks for those quotes. This is the JW "wisdom" I grew up with and that carries over for the most part today. Mental health issues have such a stigma attached to them that some people get touchy when the subject comes up. That is unfortunate. If someone has a broken bone, they don't call the elders first do they? There is no shame attached to the broken bone. The broken mind? Not so much.

Yes, most congregations had their meetings later in the day. One Hall i was in had it at 6:00 PM. Sundays looked like this: 9:00AM meeting for service. 9:30: to the field. NO BREAKS till 12:00-12:30 . Lunch,if lucky at a coffee shop. 2:00 study for the WT. 3:00-4:30PM : totally dead time, not enough to do anything but have a snack or light supper 4:30-5:00PM change back into meeting clothes and get ready for the 15-20min drive to KH. 5:30-5:45 PM arrive at KH and visit. 6:00 -7:10 PM REALLY boring talk where speaker goes overtime. 7:10 -7:20 break (windbag speaker stole 5min. of our break time) 7:20 -7:30 song and another rambling prayer. 7:30-8:30 WT study (if conductor didn't go overtime) 8:30-8:40 song and prayer. 8:40- 9:00PM visiting (Dad does his PO thing) 9:00-9:15 -20 drive home. 9:30PM ALL the good TV is over and it's time to get ready for bed and school the next morning. Over 12 hours of drugery. Aude, we were typing at the same time! We obviously had similar experiences as kiddy Dubs.

The average JW doesn't DARE analize this nuu light lest he see the absuridity of it all. Remember, the flock is continually reminded that the GB "has done all the research" so don't you worry your tiny little minds thinking too hard. The generation change in '95 had me scratching my head because it made no sense. My knee jerk responce was to kick into Scarlet O'hara mode. "Oh fiddle-de-deeee I'll "jes have to worry "bout that tomarrah!" I assume the same is happening now.

Dwain, The "Brothers" sure loved to put everyone on the spot to shame them into doing more. Guilt, competion and shame were fostered by HQ. No wonder these attitudes remain long after the charts are gone.

it's steady cash flow laundering money to maintain a kingdom hall.

Jehovahnomics, you have found the issue that was the tipping point for hubby and me. Doctrine can be argued but stealing money and lying about it is inexcusable for an organization who claims to represent God.

Yup, kids would play, you could get a drink of water, go to the restroom etc. Why did they dispense with it?
