  About as fast as it is now because the growth is mainly from born ins. The difference might be that slightly less leave when they get older.

  with all these new lawsuits coming against the watchtower, i wonder what would have happened if the watchtower had revised their policies instead of disfellowshipping whistleblowers.

  i wonder if the gb regrets it.

  what if they had accepted that child abuse was a real issue and abolished the 2 witness rule?

  BoC, Yes, I remember that reasoning coming out (late 70,s I think) AFTER the authorities were arresting JW's for child abuse AT the KH! For those of us who had already left home by this time the NUUU light was TOO LATE.

  Why don't parents of an abused child go straight to police, why go to an elder first??

  i hope i don't come across as judgemental but having read a lot on the current child abuse cases and the different threads on here, i am left wondering why on earth a parent of an abuse victim would go to an elder with the problem first and not straight to police?.

  as a parent myself i know that if anything like that happend to my child (this applies to when i was still an active jw as well as now) i would not hesitate in going to the authorities as soon as i found out, it wouldn't of crossed mine or my husbands mind to go to an elder.

  maybe after we had reported it but definitely never as the first port of call.

  You are asking this question of parents who are already prepared to let their child DIE if they needed a blood transfusion. (I was one of them) It is no wonder at all that a JW parent would follow the elders instructions, after all, they are representing GOD! Dubs are taught that being DFed is worse than death as death results in being in Gods memory and being DFed is complete alienation from God. This is why parents receive this threat from the elders -it works! Also many in the cong have never gone to the elders with a problem and had it go horribly wrong. They have NO IDEA the pedo won't get expelled and might even be promoted!
