  at the time, my father had clued us in that it was coming and had gotten a recording of it.

  i celebrated halloween and my birthday and the elders have been told.

  husband told the elders i've called the religion a cult.

  they said i'm "heading down a road to be an apostate.

  You bring up a good point about the possiblity of them attempting to use your child as a witness against you. Just remind them they can't have it both ways. If a 6 yo is NOT considered by the WBT$ to be a "credible witness" to their molestation/rape then your 5 yo is also too young to be questioned.

  cognac, First, I want to applaud you for taking control of your life so cleverly.You have given your husband and the elders the choice to do things the easy way or the DF way and the consequences that will result. Elders are fully aware that "Mother" will throw them under the bus legally if they are sued. They brought up your father because if he is an elder they would prefer to pass this hot potato (your case) over to him so they can weasel out of it saying "it has been handled."

  hi guys, ive finally got a copy of coc from my local library, im on page 120ish and im really enjoying it!

  the thing that gets me now that im enlightened is how little the rank and file know about anything this organazation does!

  everything is so secretive and covered up behind a curtain.

  Welcome Blackfalcon! I had heard about R Franz's book when it came out but refused to even peek at it then. Fast foreward to about 6 years ago when my hubby (Balaamsass) secretly bought the book, started to read it but made the mistake of not hiding it. When I found it, I threw it away without asking him. Then about 3 years ago there was a "last straw" that made me upset enough to take the rebellous step to read COC on line. By chapter 3 Iwas DONE with the WBT$!!. The book hit me like someone dumping cold water on a drunk, shocked and angry! Rays book gave us the courage to investigate the rotten roots of the organization and we left together after wasting nearly 60 years in the cult.

  i found this article interesting & just wanted to share.

  after going through my teenage years trying to be the perfect jw, i realized that trying to live up to the standards imposed on me have been for worse & not for better.

  i was feeling miserable, repressed, unfulfilled, with a great lack of self confidence & self esteem.

  I'm convinced that many JW couples would not end up getting married if they did a "test drive" first. It is a shame that sometimes the consequences of remaining virgins or celebate before marriage are so great.
