A possible way for the Watch Tower to generate revenue via their website.
by adjusted knowledge inearlier in the week someone posted the potential value of the jw website based on visits and if they used advertisements.
many stated they would never do that but i propose they could.. besides their real estate profit making business model, they have the conventions as cash generating machines.
they give directions to their members to which hotels/motels to use.

AK, I fully agree. Some sort of statement about defraying the cost of their nu wiz-bang techknowlegy thingys gradually spooned in should be enough to sell it to the flock. How 'bout the ever- effective guilt trip : " Since donations by you tight-wad Brethren have been insufficient to cover the inflated cost of keeping up with Jehovah's celestial chariot we now have to resort to accepting advertisements. See what YOU MADE us do???" -

If Your JW Parent Died Would YOU Go To The Kingdom Hall For The Talk?
by minimus ini would like your thoughts, please..

I would have no problem with attending a service in the kingdumb Hall per se. After all, I know the drill well. The issue with me is that my mother has shown virtually NO respect to me in my entire life and I am the only child. Shouldn't respect be a two way street? I have had 3 JW uncles die in the last couple of years and had to find it out on the internet or from a distant friend LONG after the fact. Since my realatives don't like or respect me enough to even inform me of a death in the family why should I arrange a KH memorial of mom for them? I might have some kind of remembrance at a graveside or funeral home but IF I do I will be the speaker and I think what I have to say would SHOCK my audience !!!

My hubby Balaamsass is also an ex elder. He stepped away to help with my teenage children. He stayed away due to the treatment he received when he tried to properly deal with a pedophile.

i remember vivid scenes in kingdom halls and in the homes of jws who used extreme measures to discipline their children.

As I recall the Cedar Point convention refered to was held in 1922 but really, what difference does it make? These so called important years are not even HINTED at in the Bible. 1918,1919, 1922, 1931, 1935,(now demoted) 1975 et all. BTW, I never had a grand climax while reading/studying the Revelation book.

IF a GB member were removed/DFed the RandF would respond the same way they did with R Franz. The WTBT$ would publically demonize the infidel as being overcome by Satan and then stress the need to stay even closer to Jehovah/b0rg. Another campaign against reading ANY apostate material would ensue in an attempt to instill fear into the dubs. Some would leave, but most would be even more resolved to stay "faithful". I was one of the fearful who refused to be shaken by the departure of R Franz or read COC. Remember, most JWs looked at this as yet another "test of faith" and stayed including many on this board. The only difference now is that the internet provides instant information to those with questions so possibly more would leave this time.

by TheMark ini've been a lurker for quite some time and enjoy the forum.
i've reached a point in life where i don't argue ideologies anymore so i don't have much to say.
i've been out for decades and believe i've been mostly de-cultabilized (if that's even a word).. my family is still in and i haven't had contact with them in years.

An eager Sister Pioneer approaches the BOE with her plan...
by LogCon insister pioneer, always thinking of how to expose false religion and promote true worship, finds out that many mormons are becoming disillusioned with the mormon faith because of the revelations being exposed on the internet.
if it is exposing the mormons, it would help to expose other false religions.she puts two and two together and comes up with a plan.. after the next meeting she asks the boe to meet with her at the back room.. ' with all in attendance brother jorgenson speaks first.... brother jorgenson: ' sister pioneer, this is most unusual but we know you are excited about something.
tell us what is on your mind.

EOM, I agree that most everyone has somthing quirky about them. The difference imo is that JWs usually don't have the social skills to control the crazy when in public. Let me put it bluntly. We all burp and fart but most of us know better than to do it in public.

True story: Some years back, while I was an active JW, I had spent months encouraging a dear friend of mine (who was inactive for years) to attend the Sun. meeting with me. Imagine my delight when she finally came. We hadn't even had time to find our seats before an officious sister got in her face and said in a loud voice, "You are wearing cologne! Don't you know there are people here who are alergic???" Needless to say, my friend never attended another meeting again. Thank you rude sister, you helped my friend see what she needed to see!
