Under, No doubt. I might have given her a real ration but she looked so pitiful. This once vibrant sexy woman is now dowdy and must walk with a cane. Her TBI has left her a shell of the person she once was. I didn't have the heart to reveal TTATT as now, in this state, she needs a group who accepts her "as is". She will drain the life out of her congregation. Oh well.....

Inactive Witness Preaches To Me Today
by pale.emperor ina rather bizzare situation, this morning.
i was taking my daughter to the park, as i walk past a row of shops a car horn beeps and shouts me.
i turn round and see a car in a disabled parking space with a guy who used to go to my hall smiling and waving to me.

PE, I have had a few experiences similar to yours. The most recent was a few months ago where I was at work in a retail store. In walks a former friend who was raised and baptized a JW but cheated on her first husband and escaped DFing by crying to the elders about her husband who thus became an alcoholic. (He was dfed, not her!)
Fast forward a few years and low and behold We both had moved several hundred miles away (she a few years prior) to the SAME congregation! We renewed our friendship 'cause she was a very happy, fun person to be around. So fun, in fact, that she and my (1st) husband flirted openly with each other. I later found out that he had given her $500.00 as a gift when he was penny-pinching me. She later meets my single and DFed cousin and hit it off great until he realized he could never take her home to meet his JW family. ( they had been fornicating like rabbits.) My cousin broke it off, then suddenly got cancer and died, I got a traumatic divorce, she became INACTIVE, I then avoided her because I was afraid she would "weaken" my faith. LOL
She next marries a much younger "worldly" man she barely knew. Soon after, she gets in a horrible car accident that killed her mother and left her with a traumatic brain injury and a divorce from the new hubby.
Meanwhile, my 2nd hubby and I learn TTATT and become merely inactive. I didn't see or hear from her until that day when she came into the store loudly asking if I was still a JW and if not, why not.
I simply said, "I don't believe it anymore." She loudly exclaimed, "Are you an Apostate???" I couldn't make a scene so I escorted her to the door, told her it was good to see her and walked her partway to her car.
The next day I started getting e-mails encouraging me to "return to Jehovah" I decided to ask her if anything "unusual" happened between her and *** (my 1st husband). Well, what do you know, the e-mails stopped. She is right where she belongs. Let Watchtower take care of her. LOL!

Some years ago, elder talked bad things about me in field service.....
by Iamallcool ini just thought about my old congregation where an elder met worldly married couple in field service some years ago.
the couple knew me for years but we do not know each other very well and they mentioned my name to him and he started to talk bad things about me!

Like Blondie and so many others, I was gossiped about while I was still active. The gossip was malicious however, I had no idea I was the subject of such hurtful talk until I moved and changed congregations.
Balaamsass was an elder in the new hall and had heard so many stories about me and my ex that he and the CO made a "Shepherding call" on me to find out WTH was going on. I had absolutely NO idea I was "famous". LOL, It was as if I was walking all over town with toilet paper hanging out of my panties blissfully ignorant.

Assembly Dramas:They were so bad.... but.... you waited for them to break away from the monotony!
by RULES & REGULATIONS in.
you do remember the four day assemblies... sitting outdoors being fried in the sweltering heat, getting heat stroke in the middle of july in an outdoor baseball stadium.sitting outdoors from 9:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. was so much fun while you wore a suit, long sleeve shirt and a tie while your brain fried.
mom's who had children to take care of,lug strollers, feed all the kids, take them for bathroom breaks and try to not faint from the heat.. the sound and audio was always breaking and barely audible from the wind, airplanes flying over and (if you attended the cicero, illinois circuit )you would smell horse manure from the horse stables next door.. you know that you are a jehovah's witness.... when the only excitement waiting for the drama... where brothers and sisters dress up in ancient cloths, fake beards, fake rocks and fake soldier uniforms and wave their hands incessantly to pretend that they are acting out a drama.the excitement was unbearable!.

Dozy, I think we had the same parents!
8 days of blistering heat in the afternoon yet freezing early morn and at night. I was not allowed to sleep either.
I remember the hideous echo in the ball parks. Everyone sitting there nodding but not understanding a word.
Does anyone else remember the HOT pastrami on onion roll sandwiches in the 60's? The ice cream in a cup with wooden spoon? and SNOW CONES? YUMMMM The only things that made the sitting marathon bearable!

IMO, The WORST aspect of this case is that the victim's own father was an Elder at the time and HE refused to report these crimes as well! What parent would choose to protect the so-called reputation of his church rather than his OWN DAUGHTER??? Answer: A despicable CULT member.
DISGUSTING!!!

Happy, Happy birthday, LifesNotOver.
You are a gutsy lady to take the triple plunge of leaving your town, husband, and religion all at once----at the age of 70!!! You are proof positive that a person is NEVER too old to wake up and live an authentic life. You go gurl. :)
