I was just remembering some JW's I was especially fond of who left the borg when I was active. In my sincere Dubbiness, I called or went to see them to beg them to reconsider because I loved them so much. (I didn't want them to become bird food) I literally cried for them. It's been years since i have been to a meeting- crickets. Nothing! I know I should be glad I/we are not being harrassed to return.......yet...... bummer nobody misses me.

Let's lighten things up a little
by JeffJ insince many of us in the us are watching the clock before a holiday i thought i would resurrect a topic that has been dealt with in the forums in the past but not for a couple years.
pranks.. i spend a large amount of time thinking up pranks for revenge or just for the heck of it to amuse myself.
i will post the ones i remember to hopefully make everyone's day brighter.. first off, one of the concrete bases anchoring a fence in my back yard started crumbling and the fence post started to lean.

I've got a very old one for you. Back in the 70's (the only decade when it actuallywas kinda fun to be a dub). Bro J was a notorious practical joker. We were especially fond of him bc he is so funny. One hot summer afternoon when our cong had one of the picnics at the lake, I decided to secretly put a piece of chocolate cake on the drivers seat of his pick up. Knowing it would be dark when he got in his truck to go home, I was pretty sure he'd sit on it without noticing. Sure enough, I saw him get in and sit on the cake! Hahahah I let his daughter in on the joke (she loved it) and told her to let me know what happened when he got home and his wife P saw the gooey brown stain on his pants. (she stayed home that day)Well........................... Later that night I got a call from him. He was very serious and said "P is very mad at you" (she was my best friend) "Why?" I said. "Because I sat on our brand new sofa when I got home and now i'ts stained." I was horrified!!!! Turns out He made that up and pranked me worse than i pranked him. By the way, that whole wonderful family quit Jws cold turkey a few years later.

Went to DC... wife had a moment of clarity

the public talk was "what is truth".

Try not to be too discouraged. My hubby (Baalamsass) started to wake up some time before i did. I found his copy of Crisis of Concience and threw it away! He hadn't even had a chance to read it. I did this because (wait for it) I actually thought the book would invite demonz into our house! He patiently shared tiny tidbits he read with me- never tmi at one time. Eventually, I started to lurk on this board and BAM it was like a 2x4 across my head. i woke up almost instantly. In fact, I ended up making faster progress than hubby bc I had more time to spend here. The point is, things can change. Hang in there! Spoon feed her short points you think might already bother her but never too much or too often. Wait for clues indicating she might be ready for more. Best of luck

How do the Dubbies Handle No Soliciting Signs Now?
by laverite ini get too many callers in my neighborhood, and i need to invest in a no soliciting sign for the front door.
i do not appreciate uninvited callers, unless they are there to tell me there's an immediate need to evacuate.
i absolutely won't buy anything at the door.

laverite, You say your neighborhood is worked much more than other areas of your town? You must #1 be near the KH so the dubs can start counting time sooner. or #2 be near a donut shop or #3 be near a clean public toilet or all 3.
