When my hubby resigned to spend more family time, NOT ONE in the cong. including the servant body said a word to "encourage" him to remain in his "position". There was NO deriliction of duty or even a HINT of wrongdoing on his part. Hubby had voiced his disapproval of the "good ole' boys" running our hall and SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER when a pedophile was about to be promoted to elder. There were NO meetings with him. No accusations, No asking him to please reconsider. NOTHING He was not even allowed to carry mikes. (as if that is a privelige) We now thank these ass@#$%$ for helping us wake up.

HELP! Can God SEE the future?? How?? Is this predestination??
by Bloody Hotdogs! inhad a very long and frustrating debate last night.. .
jws like to say that god has the ability to foresee the future, but can chose not to look.
this, they claim, removes the problem of predestination/preordination.. .

Madgiant makes the point: if the Bible can't be clear, how can anyone who goes by it be dogmatic? Can the bugs in my back yard theorise why I mow the lawn? If there is a God, He/she/it would be completely inscrutable by humans.

A House Divided Against Itself Falls-Luke 11:17
by Stand for Pure Worship inthat text reminds me of one of a handful of problems peculiar to the ex-jw community.
second only to the wild beast's internal divisions, is the divided makeup of the ex-jw populace.
you know the one thing that indicates jehovah's blessing upon the worldwide association of kingdom proclaimers, is not only the continued success of the preaching work, but along with it the unity and love amongst the brothers and sisters.

Loubelle, I am very sorry about your grandma. Pancreatic cancer is a sore spot for me because I lost my favorite relative (other than my son) to this disease. He did not go to hospice but stayed with family until the last few days. Every case is different, of course. Sending you positive thoughts.

The Jehovah's Witness religion has gone for good !!!
by snare&racket ini am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.
the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.
different teachings on when the end is coming.

SandR, you have elequently put how I have been feeling for some time. I was baptised in 1964 at age 12. I hardly recognise this religion. One would think that a revised religion would be new and improved. However, it was bad then and it's worse now.

What's with all the JWs unleashing the hate!?
by Julia Orwell inmost of us here on jwn, while we can get a bit narky at times, can put forth intelligent arguments and sound observations.
sure we can get bogged down with our opinions, but generally we back up our opinions with examples and evidence, and if someone has a different opinion with examples and evidence, we accept that without recriminations.
that's what adults do.. so my question is, why in the last week or so, have a couple of posters claiming to be jws come onto this forum and berated, spewed hate and judgement, and in some cases verbally attacked members personally?

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that a JW who is willing to break the GB rules of reading/associating with "apostates" is either a closet "dissenter" who wants to convince himself that the WTS is really the "truth", or counting time, or just plain wacky.

Young children baptism
by zound into further push the young children baptisms take a look at this image:.

Way to make parents feel like loosers if their kids delay baptism. Way to make kids "accountable" and shunnable. (is that a word?) Control, control, control. I wouldn't be surprised if a brother whose kids are not baptised by their teens would not be considered for appointment to MS or Elder.

RNWT: Page 1767: About 1914
by StephaneLaliberte inin appendix b1, there is a timeline for the message of the bible.
on the second page of that appendix, there is a small section entitled "about 1914", what is this?
don't you find it odd that they use the word "about"?

I was taught (early 60's) that WWI was a DISTRACTON that Satan used AHEAD OF TIME to keep people from noticing the ending of the Gentile Times and the beginning of Jesus Christs Rule/ beginning of the "time of the end". That Christ's first act as King was to oust Satan from the heavens. Eventually, as the society kept dumbing things down they let WWI be associated with proof that the "Last Days" had started.
