Millie, the cute sister with the stylish outfit is from Ocenside outside of San Diego. I know many J dubs in SoCal and can assure you this is standard dress for the area. Just curious, where are you from?

Lets hope the G.B.never learn from their mistakes , refusing to comply with court instructions.
by smiddy inwith the recent case of the watchtower hierarchy defying the court to either produce documents relating to child sex abuse claims within their organisation, and also refusing to produce a governing member to appear in court to answer questions , not only shows their arrogance and defiance of the law , they also show their contempt of the judicial system of the usa .. arent they supposed to be obeying the bible injunction ?
" pay back ceasers things to ceaser ?".
"when you are hailed before the courts , i will put words in your mouth ?".

Cognac, while i'm never happy when a marriage ends, I truly know from experience that when children are involved, sooner is better than later. I wish you and your little ones the very best.

Why don't parents of an abused child go straight to police, why go to an elder first??
by FeelingFree ini hope i don't come across as judgemental but having read a lot on the current child abuse cases and the different threads on here, i am left wondering why on earth a parent of an abuse victim would go to an elder with the problem first and not straight to police?.
as a parent myself i know that if anything like that happend to my child (this applies to when i was still an active jw as well as now) i would not hesitate in going to the authorities as soon as i found out, it wouldn't of crossed mine or my husbands mind to go to an elder.
maybe after we had reported it but definitely never as the first port of call.

Gregor, wow, what a bold pervert to go after Elders kids! Good for you for going to the authorities. The irony of YOU being the bad guy for reporting. How pathetic that JW's are taught that Jehovah is so weak that he has no ability to protect his all important name, so they shoot the messenger who dares mention something rotten in .Org land.

The Day Armageddon Came
by Londo111 inmy grandfather only had a third grade education and knew little about the bible when jws called on him.
he was a different breed of jw than those of modern times.
he truly cared about people and would give them the shirt off his back.

The lost defamation lawsuits caused the WBT$ to impliment the infamous "dissociated themselves" action. They did it over the military origionally. Now they do it for many things like Blood transfusions, celebrating holidays, not showing up for JC etc. This way they can argue in court that the person was warned and they made the informed decision not to comply, therefore they are in effect, willfuly accepting the consequences of quitting the organization. I don't agree but that is the argument and THEY make the rules.

MissFit I am so sorry for what you and your family have suffered. I hope you have a measure of peace now. People who ask why don't victims come forward are seldom victims. Predators often single out those who seem shy or diadvantaged in some way then terrify and shame them into not telling. I'm so tired of people blaming victims/survivors.

I was discussing the possibility of DFing inactive ones with Hubby and he reminded me how the Society handled the NU lite of DFing smokers in the 70's. They made an announcement that smokers had 6 months to quit, then if they didn't they were DFed. They might give the inactive 6 months to come back and if they don't......OUT!
