Employment Rules in the Watchtower Organization.
by John Aquila ina jehovah witness teacher is allowed to teach nonreligious subjects in a school owned by a religious organization but,.
is not allowed to teach the same subject in a school funded or directed by the military..
since the watchtower views all religious organizations as part of babylon the great who had gods disfavor and would be destroyed at armageddon, no elder including some members of the gb could explain this policy of employment.isocf pg 401.

Here's another one. We know an elders wife (along with 3 more of their immediate family) who are professional photographers. Their main niche market is weddings. Nearly every weekend they are on location inside the various churches taking pics and making big money. -

Just Sharing a couple of experiences I heard in the last day or two about ones leaving the Borg.
by Crazyguy ini was having breakfast with a friend and former jw just yesterday and he informed me that the place we were eating in is owned by a former witness.
the story goes as he tells me that the wife and husband or on the outs and getting a divorce.
now just so you know the state i live in, a divorce is not quick, mandatory waiting period etc.

WingCommander, What a horrible experience. Your grief was compounded instead of lessened by the "Spirit directed" "loving" organization. ((hugs))
Similar things happened to my family. A big thank you goes out to the cavalier, callous, unjust, egotistical, sanctimonious, selfish, heartless cowards who pushed daughter, hubby and me out the door.

Question about the fade
by The Big Machine ini know there are a lot of threads on here about fading and i've read a lot of them, but i have a question that i haven't found the answer to yet.. what would happen if you move to a new congregation (or at least tell your old congregation that you are moving and to have your records moved), and you don't go to any meetings?
i see lots of the fading strategies say to go to some meetings and show your face until your name is announced.
what exactly happens if you don't go to meetings in the new congregation?.

Hubby and i successfully faded by simply moving out of the territory and never attending a meeting at the new location. The secretary couldn't request records when he didn't even know we were living in his territory.
Our records sat in our old cong for years until the CO had a fit and insisted we be accounted for. Eventually, we got a phone call from an elder in the new territory that we didn't answer. Now, 7 years later we moved back to the previous town but different territory. (for other reasons) We received one e-mail from an elder in our original cong inviting us to the memorial. Hubby replied thanking him for the invite, saying we were keeping up with all things JW, and are not in his territory/jurisdiction and DID NOT DISCLOSE our location. We haven't heard another word. When JWs come to the door we don't answer.
Most elders aren't very persistent. Stay out of sight out of mind. Avoid attracting any attention to yourselves. Don't tell them your new address.

Donald Trump out trumped by Jehovah's Witnesses
by jwleaks in17 july 2015 .
hot springs, ark.
a large highway sign on the drive to the hot springs convention center advertises the town proudly as the boyhood home of president bill clinton.. but republican presidential candidate donald trump was the big name in town here friday night, where he keynoted the states annual gop dinner, and reminded a crowd of about 1,000 attendees: by the way, hillary clinton, with her husband, deserted arkansas.. .... the convention center was teeming with a surprisingly diverse crowd for a trump dinner just before his arrival.

Freegirl, "I am sure many people can thank eldubs like that for our exodus from the cult"
Very true. I would like to say that the screwy doctrine set me free but noooo I wasn't willing to scrutinize until loved ones and myself were brutally mistreated by HQ and their ruling class. Had they been the least bit loving I would still be captive to the cult. ((((shudder)))))

The conductors always had a dilemma when calling on young children and toddlers. Do you refer to a 3 year old as Bro Smith? Somewhere along the line the society directed them to address unbabtized ones by their first names only without Bro/Sis beforehand. Yet, that was weird when an adult was close to baptism, raised their hand and called called Bob or Suzie.
Only a cult would make rules about this!

J A, My stepfather was baptized in the late 1930's and died in the late 80's. When I was looking through his things I found at least 15 or more Bible translations NOT published by the WTBT$. They were well worn with his notes in the margins.
Back in the day comparing a text in multiple translations/versions was encouraged. It was called studying. He would carry on deep discussions with other Dubs and even (gasp!) speculate. He died a revered elder.
When did the society's attitude change? Answer: after Ray F and company were ousted. From that time on, no Bible was to be used but the NWT. If they could, they would have removed the verse about the ...."Boreans carefully examining the Scriptures daily to see IF these things were so."
