  Did Ray Franz write COC out of anger?

  i asked my gf who is a jw but not an active one if she has ever read coc and she tells me she has and that his book was mostly lies about the organization and that's the reason he left was because he was tempted by a hooker and ended up sleeping with her.

  he told the elders what he did because he was looking for help and he ended up getting df.

  later he found out he ended up contract hiv.

  sorry to tell you but you will have a miserable marriage..your only chance is to get her out....if she ever becomes active again, know thay she believes you will dead in a few years by the judgment of God. Know that you will be the out of the most important thing in her life. Know she will be depressed for you inactivity........know people will talk behind your back, as the guy who is making your wifes life miserable......I recall the advice a longtime Bethelite gave to a new boy, This brother called Wilbur in brooklyn bethel was known for his slow shuffle.........the new boy asked him what advice he had for new Bethelites..and Wilburs response is the same advice i am giving you

  prejudice stems from fear.

  often people are afraid of what they do not understand.

  perhaps jw's are persecuted as they say, but they persecute others as well.

  there are no "token" black members on the gb..there is a black brother. One thing you should have concluded from the history is that the gb dont do anything to please anyone.....no tokens needed

  and to the fact that you have never seen black elders?......you need to get your ass out of the woods..

  "Special" meeting in October?

  question.

  my mother told my husband that there is to be a 'special meeting' in october at the local sports arena (same place as dc's are held here) and that "only publishers are allowed to attend" that they will get "special cards" for admission from their local congregation and have to hand them in to get into the building.

  i have no idea if this has anything to do with the "annual meeting" they always have (isn't that generally in october?

  Eby, check the date of the annual meeting and compare it with the date for the "special" meeting.

  "No arrangements will be made for tying in the annual meeting by telephone lines to other auditoriums."

  What should we name the baby?

  i am due in the middle of october and my husband and i cannot come up with a name.

  i almost had him sold on venus, until he asked people at work what they thought and he got wierd looks.

  i wanted to name the last baby sidney, but let him name her because he has never gotten a chance to name a kid before.

  Layed Off!

  no matter how you think you are ready for such an eventuality, it still remains stressful when it finally does happen.. until last friday, i worked as a systems engineer for a large canadian telecom equipment manufacturer that has been laying off thousands of employees.

  their target was 30,000 and they are almost there.

  i dont know, but maybe my number was 25,879...or something.. anyone out there works or used to work for this company?

  well, well, well..lets all get together and talk.
  My company is one of the few who is actually making a profit
  in this industry. Now we are in a hiring freeze. This also happened
  about 2 months before my last job closed their NY market.
  I am not saying the writing is on the wall now, but I am milking
  all the company training now for all its worth. Now if a systems
  engineer for Nortel Cant get a job..I am dead.........oh by the
  way....the Meridians SUCK!!! although I am fond of your Nortel

  This meeting is to follow the day after the annual meeting, there are to be tie-ins from all across the U.S.

  Only a certain number of congergations have been invited, your truly happens to be one of them : )

  A Bethelite also told me that one member of the G.B. will be at each site.

  And yes you will need cards to get in......and you must be in
  good standing
