  growing up in the uk we didnt hear any stories about smurfs being demonic or evil etc, i watched the smurfs without a bad consciense.. what were the stories?

  the rules and the reasons why?

  how widespread was this crazy idea?.

  Here in the USA it was crazy! My eldest son was little, 33 now, I thought the cartoon was cute, but they were dead certain they were demons. Well I left in 1986, but on the last day I was there I got the key and put Smurf stickers everywhere in the Kingdom hall. My little going away present.

  How to teach TTATT from the inside?

  hello all, just wanted to compile a list of tricks and techniques on witnessing to others for us on the inside, especially those of us that still give talks.

  do you have a tried and tested way of doing this or do any have some ideas?

  how can we plant seeds from the platform without being obvious?.

  Ask questions that are not printed at the bottom. Open ended questions. JW are group thinkers and need encouragement to say how THEY personally feel. If you can arrange a buddy or two to work with you, to break the ice, it would be worth all the elders glaring looks. And oh... LOTS of praise for giving an individual thought.

  I too was a born in and the vast majority of my family are still JWs. Many have confined in me that if they were not so frightened of losing family they would leave in a heartbeat---- cowards I call them. They treat me one way if we are alone, but pretend they do not know me otherwise. It is a game I have had to learn not to play.

  It really sucks when you finally wake up and realize everything, including your closet wardrobe, was all for a printing company marketing scheme. I felt so betrayed and led around by a nose ring. I have been out 25 years plus and I still have a hard time coming to grips that "Jehovah" was nothing more than a Amway cleaning product.

  However, not all is lost my friend. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Light. Try praying to Jesus, Think about who he REALLY is and ask for guidance. He is there, always has been..... waiting for you.

  Did you know there are TWO different "Truth" books? And let me add this: the WBT$ is NOT a religion. It is a printing company. Members are not parishers, they are called publishers. They refuse to call their KH church (since when is the word "church" a bad word), instead just Halls. I puked for days when that sunk in.

  Here is an exercise in thinking: Replace the word "WBT$" with the word "Amway" and the GB with DeVose (the owner of Amway). The only difference is that you can make some money selling soap with Amway and that money can be used to help in other areas of your life. Conversely, the only thing you can make with the WBT$ is "time", and the elders collect "time" like gold coins. In reality, your reported "time" is only a reflection of how much time you wasted doing something that does not benefit you or your family.

  Drinking at meetings / assemblies / conventions ... who's done it?

  for me .... 1).

  last district convention after having 'read up' (took some family to it).. 2).

  last 'meeting' to watch step-father-in-law finally get his and get disfellowshipped for molestation.. ...both were taking vodka shots in the bathroom.. i'm sure there's lots of good stories out there..

  The last month I was attending I packed a 1/2 pint of vodka and would take nips in the bathroom. It was the only way to be there and not be there at the same time.

  Got a angry letter from our oldest son today we are very hurt from it.

  when i got home today from work my wife showed me a 5 page letter from our oldest son.

  he basically said he does not what anything to do with us because of all the wrong things we did as parents to him and his brother.

  he blames us for not being there for him and we are toxic parents.

  Your doing the very best thing by listening to him vent even when it hurts you. As counter productive as it sounds, encourage him to vent AT YOU and his mother. The more he does the sooner he will get over it.

  not to mention the fact that they run a printing corporation and do not need to consult with any committee of bible scholars, they just merely have to say it's so or simply say it's an idea they "{love}" and it becomes fact.

  any reason they give must be accepted by the rank and file under the painful threat of being disfellowshipped for being an appostate.. .

  Oh Oh.... you discovered their true gig...... They are a Printing Company. And it's members are not parishners , they are publishers. Buildings are called Halls not churches.

  OK, I have knowledge that someone broke into the KH and even opened the safe and took all the JC notes on people. The person then sent it all to Silent Lambs. Silent Lambs returned the stolen records. You know those JC records and letters we may have wrote were certainly not kept confidental..... Can't I reasonably expect for those records to be kept confidental since they will not return them to me. And yes I have asked.
