  What did you do to piss the brothers off?

  when you were getting fed up with meetings before you gave up, was there anything you did to deliberately get on the brothers nerves?.

  i turned up to a meeting once with jeans on, and a red top with cccp on it with the 'hammer and sickle'.

  i also went to another bs group a few times so that if i wasnt at one group they'd think i was at the other and vice versa.

  I did put on an act, but I don't think I was particularly good at it. I had members of the site and even my volunteer administrators constantly criticising me and insinuating that I was an apostate.

  Just think back to the child abuse thread -- this was a couple years before Bill Bowen, where I said that the organization could be sheltering abusers. There was also a masturbation thread where I openly stated that I didn't see anything wrong with it. I wish I had those archives -- there were plenty of occasions where my comments actually caused dozens of regular participants to quit visiting the board.

  Coming in late is another really good way to piss them off. I'm talking really, really late. When I was attending Passaic South Spanish in NJ, my wife and I would regularly get to the meeting over an hour late. Same thing in Hackensack. Actually we'd leave early sometimes too. Like I could listen to the Public talk sometimes and then get disgusted with the WT material so get up and walk out early.

  It's kind of funny and probably depends on the elder body, but once you make it "your thing" to act non-comformist, its pretty much expected of you and doesn't raise too many eyebrows. That was my experience anyway. There are still days I think it would be entertaining to start attending meetings again, just to ruffle feathers. I don't think they would know what to do with me.

  I quit the Theocratic Ministry School a good six months before becoming fully inactive. I just asked the PO/TMS Overseer to meet me in the library for a chat. I told him that I did not need to improve my public speaking skills any further and I really did not have the time or motivation to prepare the talks. It really aggravated him because I was one of the better public speakers and my father is one of the most popular public speakers in the circuit. I don't remember ever seeing this particular brother so angry, but there was really nothing he could do. Actually he tried to insinuate that maybe I had some "secret sin" that I needed to confess but I shot him down. Just simple non-compliance with the rules.

  Oh, I would also routinely submit timeslips with "0" hours. Hehehe

  in leu of recent events do militant muslams really want their jihad to start?

  i think terrorists are manipulating things to start a "holy war".

  why in their right minds would they attack a french oil tanker knowing they were one of the countries on the security counsel who was apposed to war with iraq?

  I think we should view Islam as the cruel and barbaric religion that it is and condemn it with the same resolution that we show condemning the Watchtower kult. Here is a good and politically-incorrect writeup that describes the fundamental tenets of Islam that fuel the intolerance and hate of Western culture.

  It is deeply ingrained in their religion to hate us and want to kill us.

  i was just thinking about all my old witness friends and how many of them have weird bible names.

  i mean, who the hell outside of a witness would name their child "ephriam" or "hezekiah" or "elijah"?.

  i guess they don't have to worry about being picked on by the kids at school for their names because most witless kids don't go to school anymore, lol.

  I don't feel caught in the headlights on this one. I have been a Bill Bowen supporter pretty much since day one. However, I am deeply disappointed by Bill's behavior. Instead of addressing the discussion with humility and apologizing, he posts a rather insulting and unintelligeable rant. No, I didn't understand the "Isn't Ray Franz Great" being repeated all over the place. No, I didn't understand why he repeatedly refers to himself in the third person.

  I wish Bill would just come back down to earth and talk to us at our level. But until then I am holding on.
