  Is apostate an appropriate term for us?

  how do you feel?do you like to be called apostate ?.

  apostate just means: someone who renounces a former belief or principle.. to people who have never been witnesses it may not symbolise much.but to witnesses the word means a lot.in many of their minds it is synonymous with evil and perverted.. since it jw's who will likely call us apostate not others the term almost always has a bad or negative useage.. but it does identify us as people who have completely rejected the religion.. so is it good for us to use it or not?

  Name some must have rock records

  i've spent a lot of time on allmusic.com and it amazes me how much nirvana is mentioned when the reviewers rate other albums.

  so its a no brainer that nirvana's work should probably have a place in every rock collection, but what are some other albums every rock fan should listen to if not own.

  i'm very new on here--just "born yesterday", as a matter of fact, but am finding out how wonderful it is to be able to be free to express thoughts and opinions, share ideas, give comfort, and find hope, within "these walls".. i'm going to ask a question, and that is, how long did it take any of you souls out there to find your true self, after leaving jw's?

  i was very young when i was first introduced to the studies of jw's.

  First of all welcome sweatpea,sentinal,giantjason I'm kinda new also but having been DF'D since 1990 I can say that it's a continual process there will be issue's that will come up in life that will trigger your past thoughts or emotions.It's something that I can relate to growing up in that kind of enviroment,hang tuff,don't let the hard stuff get you down,your included in this as well sweatpea and giantjason.

  Forgot My DFg Anniversary

  i can't believe i forgot to celebrate my disfellowshipping anniversay.

  they made the big announcement on june 8, 2000. i was so busy trying to find out when weekend magazine was going to air, that i just simply forgot.

  oh well, i guess this means i'm healed and could give a poopy.

  celtic mark here deep down sw of westcountry.

  i'm sure that the damage inflicted on those ones brought up in the trooth is perhaps greater than those who did not experience being brought up in it.

  You it is very hard to explain,I was raised in the truth and I do know that when I make new friends they have to fit a mold that closely resembles a jw image.By that I mean lifestyle and habits,for a long time I had the feeling of impending doom because I was DF'D.I also have found it hard to loosen up it's hard to relax around worldly people.Having an open mind also plays a part when there are certain subjects.I however am glad that other people not raised this way don't know what it's like,I would not wish this on my worst enemy.
